Raleigh Lifestyle Newborn Family Photographer - 8 Weeks Old

This sweet little 8 week old was just so happy and content for his newborn portraits with his family this morning. It was so nice that it wasn’t so extremely hot so that we could take some photos outside, too. He was pretty content to be awake and at the very end of the session, he decided to sleep for just a few minutes. So many sweet images and I just LOVE newborn sessions. I only have a few newborn spots left for late summer/early fall, so if you are thinking of booking a session, contact me for more information.

Newborn Family Photographer Raleigh NC - New York

At the end of April/early May I took a trip to NY for the Pinkle Toes Workshop Reunion..so much fun to get to spend time with some really talented photographers and of course, see some incredible parts of NY. We rented out a three story apartment in Chelsea, and we were able to walk to a little pastry shop and Starbucks in the morning. There were so many great things we did and saw, but, seriously the food tour was my favorite. (We went on the Foods of NY Greenwich Village Food Tour and Cindy was our guide - highly recommend her.) We ate some fabulous food but also learned so much about Greenwich Village, and now I totally want to go on a Raleigh/Durham food tour. The Olive oil on the tour was pretty much amazing - I think all of us bought some to bring home and I may have already ordered more and had it shipped to my house. Another fabulous thing we did was the Circle Line Cruise. We were able to see so much - Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, skyline, etc, all from the comfort of our big boat. It was a rainy evening, too, so it was great that we had a roof. We survived many taxis, walked ALOT, saw so much, and laughed so much. Such a fun trip!

Family Child Raleigh Photographer - The Perfect Evening

Wow, the light was just perfect last night for portraits! I couldn’t tell what was going to happen because it was somewhat cloudy (and there was supposed to be a slight chance of a thunderstorm last night..and, well, I just hate storms!) I was glad all the bad weather stayed away and closer to the end of the session the sun was just shining so perfectly. (See another preview here) We saw a lot of bees buzzing around the arboretum and even a bird’s nest had fallen out of a tree. So many happy family images of the three of them - can’t wait to share the rest!

Holden Beach Family Child Photographer - The Ocean

The first Coastal Session of the summer was this weekend, and we had gorgeous, perfect weather! Such a pretty sky, too! This sweet family even brought their puppy and we captured some sweet images of them together at the beach. Oh, and I have never seen two little ones love the ocean just so much. They splashed in the water and had such a good time and were completely soaked by the end. Coastal sessions are all booked up for this year - looking forward to July 4th and Labor Day Weekend, too! Raleigh Featured Lifestyle Family Photographer - The 5 Minute Project

The 5 Minute Project is such an awesome blog, and I really love looking at all the images.(See the post of Owen eating lunch here) One morning after my trip to NY, we came in from the park and had lunch. Inspired by the project, My camera was not too far away so I brought it to where I was eating and snapped a few photos. I didn’t move or change anything - I just took photos of simply 5 minutes. Once I got a chance to look at what I thought was just an everyday lunch, the photos brought tears to my eyes because of just how many memories they captured just by picking up the camera at lunch and not moving anything. I had just returned from the Pinkle Toes Workshop Reunion in NY where I had taken a photo with Spiderman in Times Square while I was there and e-mailed to my mom to show Owen. So, of course, I had to bring back all things Spiderman. It had just been Mother’s Day/my birthday so there were flowers and cards from my boys sitting on the table. I was taking care of Harrison when we first came in so he ate the rest of his lunch first (notice the sandwich still sitting there) You can see the baby monitor, too…in one of the images, I see the baby laundry in the background - ha! The Jake and the Neverland Pirates placemat really needs to be thrown out but he just won’t part with it. ….The kitchen table scratched and worn from all our art projects. Just love the story that just a few images in 5 minutes can tell, and I know I will love looking at these images of our everyday life years down the road.
