Cozy Morning at Home - Raleigh North Carolina Newborn Photography

I’m a little bit behind on blogging - such a busy month of shooting/editing. Just had to stop for a minute in between editing to share this cozy newborn session at home with this sweet family. I love how Mom wanted to capture a lot of their everyday things - playing legos, coloring, etc. and also the excitement of their 6 week baby brother. This mama is also an awesome decorator - the nursery and the whole house was decorated so beautifully - everywhere you turned in their house there was so much inspiration - she is definitely talented. Love that we captured all of these sweet memories at home (you know newborn sessions at home are my favorite!) Things are starting to wind down for me as my belly is getting bigger and bigger, and I am a little sad that I will have to stop shooting for a while. Except you know, super excited about our little miracle and please forgive me already for taking and sharing 3,000 photos of him when he arrives. And, Owen, wow, I had to make him a little album of ultrasound photos to carry around the house with him because he was dragging the big pile of photos everywhere showing his baby brother all of his toys, etc - so incredibly sweet. He told everyone at preschool Monday that he’s getting a baby after Christmas - just melts my heart. Ok, enough rambling or I’m going to start bawling..just so incredibly excited!

August Goals - Raleigh Birth Photography

I didn’t grow up with a sister (I grew up with a big brother who is totally my hero) but I have been blessed with two wonderful sister-in-laws. Amy (who is married to my brother) and Alex (who is married to Michael’s brother) have both become dear friends of mine who I feel like I could call anytime for advice or encouragement. I am so thankful for both of them. I was thrilled to be able to capture Patrick and Alex’s little one’s birth day. She is just too beautiful and I am so a proud auntie! This is the second birth session I have photographed this month and I just love it. A new baby is truly a miracle and how precious to capture their first moments.(When I finished editing the photos and put their slideshow together, I bawled as I watched it. What a special day!) I’m happy to announce that I will be accepting a limited number of birth sessions this year. More information soon on pricing/time. Birth sessions will include meeting the siblings/pictures with grandparents an hour or two after the baby is born.

Goals for August:

*Organize and finalize birth photography pricing and information
*One of my goals for this year is to organize more! Part of this is I need to declutter.
My goals this month for decluttering..
*Participate in this Consignment Sale this month! You can see pictures from their last sale here.I have already started getting things together for the sale, and I’m super excited about it!
*Sell a few things on craigslist. I have never done this before but there are a few things in the garage that need to go!
*Catch up on my 52 Week Project. It’s been a busy fun month! I need to catch up on my project - lots of cute pictures to share!
My first Friends & Family Event has been really fun and I look forward to coming up with another fun idea for next year!

Darcy’s Birth Day - Raleigh Birth Photography

One of the most incredible days of my life was the day my son was born. I couldn’t even fathom just how amazing it would be to hold him for the first time. I was so thankful a dear friend was there to capture that special moment. It’s so incredibly special because at that moment my life was forever changed.
I felt so blessed today to capture Darcy’s birth day. She is such a little miracle and was just so calm and happy when she was born. It was such a special moment - I love that I was able to catch her daddy crying when he first saw his baby girl. Congrats Ryan and Jen - she is so beautiful!

This is a picture I took of her sweet family just a few days before Darcy was born.

Happy Birthday sweet Darcy!
