Every year has gotten busier + busier and I’m trying so hard to keep up with blogging, but my main focus is on customer service with my clients. Getting images to you quicker, answering emails and editing that more often than not, blogging falls to the last of the list. I wanted to share a few sweet images from newborn sessions lately. It has been so so busy with the sweetest babies, and I love every minute of photographing newborns at home. It’s just so nice to not have to leave your home after you have a new baby. And this is where you will make all your memories those first years, so I love being able to capture that in camera.

raleigh newborn photography 04.jpgP I N this to pinterestI hope to get to blog all of these individually soon, but wanted to share what I could of some of the sweetness I’ve recently photographed. We are about to get really busy around here with spring and didn’t want to miss out on sharing a few images of recent work.

rebecca keller photography_0195P I N this to pinterestIt is always so exciting to photograph twins, and these two were just so absolutely adorable together. They were so full of expressions, but we did finally get them both asleep at the same time.

raleigh newborn photographer - 233.jpgP I N this to pinterest I love capturing all the work and details that go into decorating a nursery. It is really just so much fun picking out everything for your sweet baby, and I love being able to document that.

Sweet Brothers

Raleigh Newborn Baby Photographer

Oh my goodness, this session was just so precious. These two boys together, so incredibly adorable. And baby brother was just so happy – his belly was full, and he was sleepy and content. Loved their Carolina blue loveseat, too. So much fun!

What was the first thing you thought when you saw your baby for the first time? How excited I was that our family was complete and anticipation for Thomas to meet him.

What was your favorite part of our session together? I enjoyed not having to pack everyone up to go somewhere and having photos in places that are meaningful to us.

How did you prepare the baby for our photoshoot? Lots of food and a diaper change

How was your experience having your newborn photographed? Were you worried or nervous beforehand? How did it turn out? I was nervous that he would be fussy, but feeding him right before we started helped.

What would be your advice to someone getting newborn photographs taken? Know what you want before the baby is born (photographer, clothes, etc.). Finding clothes was the most stressful part.

Do you have any other children? How did they react to the baby? Any cute stories to share? Thomas was very excited to be a big brother and has done great. He likes to restock the diapers and wipes and loves to participate in tummy time with William. Every morning before school, Thomas insists on coming in to give William a hug and kiss before he leaves.

Any advice to other families picking out wardrobe or preparing for family portraits? Having all the clothes purchased, ironed, and ready to go before the baby comes would be ideal as there was a lot of stress trying to coordinate outfits after the baby came.

Only Sleep

Cary Newborn Photography

Oh my, this sweet little boy just slept and slept during his entire newborn session. With a newborn, everyday can be so different and their schedules can be different so just never know what they are going to do…but this sweet little guy just stayed in dreamland the entire session. Love all these sweet images with his parents! Such a cutie!

According to Mom…

What was the first thing you thought when you saw your baby for the first time? I thank God he was healthy and so perfect. I felt blessed to have my baby in my arms and my husband and family right next to us.

What was your favorite part of our session together? Becky made us feel very comfortable from the moment we met her when she arrived at our home. Getting direction from her was very helpful to be able to take pictures with our newborn without waking him up. Hehe.

How did you prepare the baby for our photoshoot? I fed him right before the shoot and during the shoot. Half way through.

How was your experience having your newborn photographed? Were you stressed or worried beforehand? I was nervous that he will get uncomfortable but it turn out great! He was very relaxed and helpful.

What would be your advice to someone getting newborn photographs taken? Don’t worry too much about it. Newborns sleep most of the day and they will cooperate. Most of the time is the adults that are nervous. Hehe. Also, Get a good swaddle blanket that will be fitted to the baby.

Was there a sentimental item in your nursery that we photographed? At the shoot we had this handmade rug my friend Angie created for our baby Daniel with his name. It was very sweet to have photos of it.cary newborn photography 8.jpgP I N this to pinterestcary newborn photography 38.jpgP I N this to pinterestcary newborn photography 8.jpgP I N this to pinterestcary newborn photography 58.jpgP I N this to pinterestcary newborn photography 008.jpgP I N this to pinterestcary newborn photography 008.jpgP I N this to pinterestcary newborn photography 778.jpgP I N this to pinterestcary newborn photography 908.jpgP I N this to pinterestcary newborn photography 1118.jpgP I N this to pinterestcary newborn photography 89.jpgP I N this to pinterestcary newborn photography 598.jpgP I N this to pinterestcary newborn photography 33348.jpgP I N this to pinterestcary newborn photography 0008.jpgP I N this to pinterestcary newborn photography 832.jpgP I N this to pinterestcary newborn photography 333338.jpgP I N this to pinterest

Sunshine

Wake Forest Maternity Photographer

It’s so wonderful to have a sunshine day for a session. This was right after my dad’s surgery so I was back and forth to Greensboro the day of their session, but was super thankful for a bright sunshiny day. One time, while photographing this same sweet family, at this same park, the thunder and clouds started rolling in during our session, and we were pretty far away from the parking lot.  This is one of those parks that you really want to bring a stroller, we can do a lot of walking.(you know I am not the biggest fan of thunderstorms…like one of my least favorite things ever. I am not the one that is going to be outside on the porch watching storms. I’ll be in the bathroom listening for tornado sirens, ha!) We were pretty far away when it started thundering really badly, and I may have ran to the car a little bit. So I get a little bit happy when the sun is out and no chance of storms are in sight. These images were taken while waiting for their sweet second baby boy, who is now here and I just got to photograph. (their newborn portraits on the blog soon!) And if you didn’t see my facebook post, we are doing some super fun family minis at The Little Herb House this weekend, and we had one spot open up at 6:40 PM. Contact us ASAP before it’s booked!

Pretty in Pink

Wake Forest NC Newborn Photographer

This sweet girl was just so beautiful and decked out in her pink blanket, love it. She loved being photographed and didn’t want to miss a second of the session. Loved seeing her yawn and those dimples! Such a sweetheart! I love newborn sessions at home because a lot of stress is out the window..you have everything you need and there’s no rush. We watched a lot of HGTV while this sweet girl was going to sleep.

According to Mom….

What was the first thing you thought when you saw your baby for the first time? I had an unplanned c-section, so I wasn’t able to really see her for over an hour other than a quick glimpse. Hearing her little cry for the first time absolutely the best moment. It took my breath away to know she was ours and finally here. My husband was with her while they were finishing my surgery and in recovery. When they finally met me in recovery, her and her dad looked like best friends already. It’s unreal seeing your baby for the first time, I was instantly in love with her.

What was your favorite part of our session together? The best part is how patient Becky is! Blakely didn’t want to miss out on anything so it took her a while to fall back asleep. Becky tried all the tricks to get her back to sleep and to make sure I got the pictures I wanted. It’s really nice being in the comfort of your own home where we could feed or change her easily if needed.

How did you prepare the baby for our photoshoot? Before Becky arrived, I made sure Blakely was fed, changed and just in her diaper wrapped in a blanket.

How was your experience having your newborn photographed? Were you worried or nervous beforehand? We are first time parents and I wanted everything to be perfect. Of course I worried that my newborn wouldn’t behave or that they wouldn’t turn out like I hoped. But, her pictures are amazing! I love the way she captured our daughter’s dimples and the way she can’t stand to have her feet covered up.

What would be your advice to someone having newborn photographs taken? It’s really hard, but try not to stress. Just go with the flow!

Was there a sentimental item in your nursery that we photographed? There’s an American flag on the wall in her nursery that I love. It was a gift for my husband from some of our good friends at our gender reveal party. My husband served four years in the US Marine Corps so it makes the flag in her room even more special. I love that it’s in her nursery and I can’t wait to tell our daughter about her dad’s bravery and service to our country!

Any favorite baby gear so far? I really thought it was overrated, but I love our dock-a-tot pillow. It’s so easy to bring all over the house and travel with. Blakely loves it so it was definitely worth it!

Any other advice to families picking out wardrobe or preparing for a session? Pick comfortable outfits since there’s a lot of posing and positions. Becky makes you look good no matter what you wear though!
