Holden Beach Family Baby Photographer - Fun at the Coast

We had the prettiest weather the evening we headed out to the beach for this session. The nice thing about the beach is that when it’s super hot out, there’s at least a little bit of wind on the beach. There were just so many fun, happy images from this session that it was hard for me to pick which ones to use in the blog post. The three little ones just had so much fun running around the beach and splashing the waves - you can just see the joy on their faces. I love, love, love sessions on the beach because not only am I photographing your family, but the session is a memory for the little ones, too..and they have portraits to remember it by. Coastal sessions really are one of my favorites, and I was really sad that the last Coastal session for this year was last weekend. Bye, bye summer - so, so sad.

Coastal Sessions are at Holden Beach - which I just love so, so much. Just have to list a few of my favorite places in case you are in town. (And if you have any more to recommend, please let me know!)

Yacht Basin Provision Co. (Love watching the boats while we eat, and I love their crabcakes and corn on the cob)

Ludlum’s - We always have to stop and get a key lime pie - sooo delicious

Ocean Boulevard Coffee - um, yes, LOVE.

Beaches-n-Cream - homemade ice cream that is amazing! Michael got the Maple Bacon Pancake as we were leaving this weekend - so delicious!

Keep an eye on the blog - dates for the Free Holiday Mini Sessions will be released next week. (10 minutes, one image per child) These are free when booking a 2015 session so if you are thinking of booking a Coastal Session next year, I will only be taking one per holiday week again. It just makes rescheduling if there is bad weather (like a Hurricane this year) so much easier working with both of our schedules. (Those of you who have already booked a 2015 session - I’ll be sending you the dates/times first as soon as they are finalized)

Holden Beach Lifestyle Family Child Photographer - Splashing in the Waves

One reason I love beach portraits so much is that they are FUN. And if you’ve had a session with me, you know that I really try my best to make the session fun, too. So photographing families at the beach is such a favorite of mine. It’s easy to have fun at the beach, right? The weather was just perfect for this session, the beach was quiet, and big brother was just soooo excited about the water. I love soooo many of these - it was hard to pick which ones to share for the blog post. One day soon I hope to have some sweet family portraits of our family at the beach, too, because I just love them so much. Such a beautiful background and sweet family memories are the best. I will also add in that the beach is not like a super glamorous location..we do laugh through windy hair, falling into the ocean, and being covered in sand. The fun, happy family portraits are so worth it!

So super sad that my last Coastal Session for this year is this weekend. (And reallllly hoping the rain stays away!) I will be offering them again next year, only one session per holiday. It makes it so much easier when having to reschedule for weather, like when there was a hurricane July 4th week. If I only have one session, there’s a lot less stress in planning around weather. If you’re thinking about booking one, remember that I will be opening up the Free (when booking a 2015 session, one image per child) Holiday Mini Sessions in a week or two. (See more information here) Those of you who have already booked a 2015 session will be sent dates/times first so if you are thinking of booking a Coastal Session for next year, dates will go fast. And if you booked your session early last year, you know there’s a lot of super great stuff planned for 2015 if you book early!

This has been such a great summer - I am really thankful for such a great year this year, meeting so many new clients that have become great friends and looking forward to the busy fall!

Holden Beach Lifestyle Family Photography - Avoiding Arthur

So you may have seen the first post about this session.. (the preview) Wow. I was thinking of booking two Coastal sessions per holiday and this session confirmed my decision to only book one. Because of tropical storm Arthur (who turned into a hurricane just hours before our planned session) we rescheduled our session for a day earlier. So glad we did! It was gorgeous the evening of our session, and we were able to capture so many family memories of their Holden Beach 2014 vacation.

I first met this sweet family for their little one’s six month portraits - such a wonderful in home session. I loooooove sessions at home - always so much fun to photograph! Last year when he turned one, they had their session at Holden, and I was thrilled when they decided to stay at Holden this year and wanted another Coastal Session. (Coastal sessions are really just that fun! I so want one of my fam, too.)

One thing I loved about this session was capturing their little one with his bucket. So incredibly cute! He loved screaming about the water and just pouring it out all, laughing and screaming and waving at his mama - precious memories for sure!

And just a little update - I have heard from so many of you this week about booking fall sessions. December newborn sessions are all booked up. I may be able to take one or two more October/November newborns. I might be able to squeeze in one fall family session if anyone is still thinking about it. I’ve had a few travel sessions this summer, too - you can contact me for more information about my travel fee. Oh, and stay tuned to instagram. I may have left some news about the contest coming up soon!

Downtown Raleigh Family Photography - Colorful and Fun

It is raining (Oh my, so much rain today!) so it’s the perfect afternoon to sit down with my coffee and watch the rain pour while blogging this sweet session. The boys are also having a matching pajama afternoon which Owen just thinks is the coolest….You may not believe it, but I am one of those people that the idea of photographing a family with six kids just doesn’t stress me out. And you know what, these kids were just so sweet and such a blessing to photograph..so many hugs and smiles and a lot of laughter. I am still amazed at how well this session went and how many images I took. (well I mean, it’s a lot of people so you know, I probably used almost all of my compact flash cards.) Last year, we had their family portraits outside in a pretty park, so this mama wanted something different this year - a fun downtown location. Thanks so much to Rebus Works for giving us permission to use their space - what a cool, fun location with a variety of backgrounds for us to use and great downtown parking. (They have a parking lot - woo-hoo!) Such a neat place, and they also have a Saturday market which is pretty cool. Oh, and the light we had for this session was just gorgeous - love, love, love.

I love all of these…There is so much love, joy, and happy in this family. Their mama is such a sweetheart and if you met her, you’d want to be bffs immediately. (She truly is amazing..you can read her blog here.)I am constantly amazed at all they do with all of their little ones. (They were all dressed and out the door for Chic-fil-a Dress like a cow day, and I was thinking I was too tired to take just two little ones!) What a fun session this was - glad we took out the bubbles at the end!

Raleigh Newborn Photographer NC - A Special Event for 2014 Clients

Just wanted to update the blog with updates for the busy fall just around the corner! Because of so many family sessions scheduled in the fall, I only have a few newborn openings left, so if you have been thinking about booking a newborn session, contact me for more information! (I know December seems super far away, but I only have one newborn spot left for December,too.)

Today is the LAST day to book a session (I must receive your session fee before midnight EST) to be included in a special client in the fall! It’s going to be so super fun, and if you have already booked a 2014 session, I’ll be sending out e-mails in the next week or two with more information and how to make sure you get a spot in the event.

In September, I’ll release the dates for the Free Holiday Mini Sessions. (Free when booking a 2015 session) The sessions are 10 minutes and include one free image per child. Click here to see some of the images from last year. These were sooo much fun! If you’ve already booked a 2015 session, I’ll be sending you info first!

Oh, and make sure you are following me on instagram…just sayin’. (two contests coming up this fall…and one reallllly soon!)

And last, in December, I have a few spots available for sessions at home Christmas tree/Christmas pajamas sessions (fun!I will only be taking a limited number of these, and I’m starting to book them now, so if you are interested - send me an e-mail quick!
