Those Spring Trees

If you saw my last post, you’d know I get so happy when the pretty Spring trees starting blooming. (That pretty tree was in a different location) The only thing is, in North Carolina, our pretty Spring trees bloom when it’s cold. Cold, cold, cold. It wasn’t too bad the day of this session, but many my session last night was just a little bit freezing. (And it’s supposed to be in the 70s tomorrow and 80s on Thursday, what, what!) I might be a little bit excited about this! So many babies were just born and I’m photographing a lot of sweet newborns in the next week, too! Super excited about all the babies being born in the next few months!

I’ve photographed this sweet family several times, and they are just so much fun. And sweet baby brother was turning one, so we had to take some portraits to document this sweet time. Love that there was one spring tree we could capture, too.

Glowing

Raleigh Maternity Photography

We have had some cold days lately, it has not felt like spring….so I was super excited to be able to use their pretty tree out front to add some spring to their maternity portraits. This sweet family lives in the Greensboro area and we kept trying to coordinate dates, and we finally found something that worked. This mama is such a dear friend of mine + beautiful inside and out. Cannot wait to meet their baby boy soon!

According to Mom…

What was your favorite part of the session? My favorite part of the session was when Becky took pictures of our 2 year old holding my hands or hugging the baby bump. He was really active..and Becky did a wonderful job being patient and engaging Silas. I also cherish the pictures of just me and baby. We have a sheep pasture and chose to have the shoot on our little farm.

Were you worried about any parts of the session beforehand? Any advice to others preparing for a session? I was a little concerned with the weather..it was chilly. I dressed Silas in layers so that he wouldn’t need a coat, but had a blanket between photos and Becky worked quickly!! I would advise to definitely bring a coat on a cold day, It was definitely worth the few moments of warmth during transitions.

Do you have any pets? A growing sheep farm wth two guard llamas that are so much fun.

How would your describe your perfect Saturday as a family? I love quiet Saturday mornings when my husband makes us a big breakfast.(: One of our favorite restaurants is HOPS Burger Bar in Greensboro.

Friday Favorites

Central Park NYC Carriage Ride PhotoP I N this to pinterest

from our Central Park Carriage Ride

A few favorites from this week..

Oh my goodness, these silhouette necklaces, love.

The GoodRX app. My dermatologist told me about this..so great. It compares prescription prices at different pharmacies near you + also sometimes has coupons.

Cozi family organizer. Love all the notifications and reminders and that Michael and I can both sync on our phones.

Reading with Owen. I love that he loves to read so much and we can spend quality time together just sitting together and reading.

I really love the whole, “Collect Moments not Things,” motto…I’d love a sign or frame in the house with that printed…(but then you know, it’s another thing to buy HA) We’ve traveled a lot over the past few months, and I just enjoy it so much. We’ve been emphasizing with the kids putting our money towards trips and not toys they will toss after a month.

I, Eliza Hamilton I just read this to get ready for going to see Hamilton, and it was so so good. A great way to learn the history about Hamilton, especially if you are going to the show.

Favorites from our NYC Trip.

There’s always something new to do/see in NYC…here are a few favorites from our trip last week.

Murray’s Bagels. Delicious. I had the poppyseed bagel, and it was amazing. So many great bagel sandwiches to choose from, too.

Dough. This place was so yum! Sometimes doughnuts can just be too much, but these were perfect. The salted chocolate caramel and the lemon poppy were my favorite.

Burger and Lobster. I can’t even. We ate a burger with lobster on it, and it was unbelievable.

Black Tail. What a unique spot – super cool.

Pizzieria Sottocasa. They fly in Burrata cheese every weekend (you can only get Fri – Sun) so of course we had to try it. yum!

I’ve also really wanted to try Cookie Do NYC for a while, and it was super sweet and yum.

Milk Bar Bakery. Chocolate chocolate was my favorite followed by the Chocolate Chip Cornflake cookie.

Most of this was food…We also had fun seeing the ACC Tournament in Brooklyn. (UNC beat Duke, go heels!) and we went to see Hamilton. It was really fun, and Michael actually really enjoyed the play. I loved reading the I, Eliza book beforehand, but I was glad I hadn’t listened to the music, and everything was a surprise. Super fun!

Before He’s One

Raleigh Studio Baby Photographer

I loooove Baby milestone sessions and getting to see how they grow and change in the first year. It was so sweet to see this little one and get to photograph him with his Mommy. He has an older brother, and it’s always so special to get portraits alone with your baby, too. (See his newborn portraits with his big brother here, so so precious!) I love how simple and neutral milestone sessions are, and they just focus on you + your baby. I love photographing all the details that change so quickly, little hands, little feet, all that baby chunkiness! Such a sweet morning with these two!

The calendar has been crazy this week..Ericka can hardly keep up with all the styling emails. We are trying to schedule everyone as fast as we can! That being said, if you have been thinking about booking a session and haven’t done it, please contact us as soon as possible. We also have a few spots left for our Spring Mommy and Me and Family minis, so send me an email (becky@rebeccakellerphotography.com) for more information. We are really looking forward to Spring and warmer weather!

That Sweet Little Bow

Raleigh Newborn Photography

Raleigh Newborn Photographer 87P I N this to pinterest

Sometimes the littlest things take up the most room in your heart.

-Winnie the Pooh

These two big brothers were so super cute with their baby sister and you could tell that they just lovvvved her. One brought popcorn to sit and watch while we finished her portraits at the end, soo cute! It was really sweet that this family waited to find out the gender and were surprised with a baby girl! Loved meeting this sweet family and photographing them with their baby girl at home. Oh, and that little pink bow, the sweetest!

According to Mom…

What was the first thing you thought when you saw your baby for the first time? I was waiting for the words, “Its a boy!” and instead my husband, Zach said in disbelief and tears, “Jess! It’s a girl! It’s a girl!!” It was a really beautiful moment.

What was your favorite part of our session together? I was a nervous-wreck the morning of our session and Becky put me at ease. She was so kind to my boys and cared about getting the shots that I wanted. She also didn’t rush us and worked around our crazy crew.

How was your experience having your newborn photographed? Were you worried or nervous beforehand? I was nervous that it wouldn’t turn out because my boys were so excited that day and were constantly moving around, but the pictures turned out better than I could have expected. Thank you, Becky!

Do you have any other children? How did they react to the baby? Any cute stories to share? I have two boys, Sawyer and Rhett, and they have been the best big brothers. Sawyer lovingly caresses her cheek throughout the day and Rhett brings her bows whenever hers falls out. I can’t wait for them to all grow up together and play.

How would you describe your perfect Saturday as a family? One that is spent outside with no phones and no distractions. Just enjoying each other’s company.
