It’s hard to believe this is the third year I’ve photographed this sweet family at Holden Beach right around July 4th. I only take a limited number of Coastal Sessions each year, and this sweet family has celebrated their little one’s first, second, and now third birthday with portraits at the beach. I love the beach, and I think we laughed soooo much just from the wind during this session. (Never forget how windy it is at the beach) This year we decided to add in the marina and were even brave enough to head to the pier. You just never know how many people could be trying to take pictures under the pier. (And I may have sprinted from the walkway to the pier when I saw it was free. We started at the marina, and these two little ones just LOVE each other- how precious are they together? So many smiles and giggles which made this session so much fun. There was a concert going on under the bridge while we were taking pictures at the marina which was also amazing.This mama is the talent behind Little Apple Styles who is so talented at styling sessions!

Wow, the light was just magical Saturday night. It could not have been more perfect for our Ice Cream Minis styled by Little Apple Styles. We had beautiful dreamy light, the cutest ice cream bus from The Parlour in Durham. (Oh, and if you haven’t tried their ice cream, it’s amazing!) and the most adorable wardrobe for the kids. (Thank you, thank you, Ericka!) It was just so fun – we took pictures right until the last minute, and ate a lot of ice cream, too! It was such a great time, and it has been so much fun creating memories and artwork for 2015 clients. (Oh, and the super cute dresses are from Tutu du monde!)

We weren’t quite sure if it was going to rain or all out storm during this session, but this little one was just so full of joy to be held by her Mommy & Daddy. She has the sweetest little personality – I first met her at her newborn portraits and then her sixth month portraits, and really couldn’t believe it was already time for her one year session. She thinks her mommy and daddy are hilarious, and I love that we were able to capture that at this session. And the outfit her Mama picked out for her – ADORBALE. It did start thundering at the end of our session (And those of you who have been with me during storms know that they are not my bff) I may have sprinted to the car 🙂

What a beautiful sunset & beautiful weather the evening of their maternity portraits. You really never know what it’s going to be like in the summer – super hot, evening storms (so many evening storms!), or humid. And these two were just so natural and happy together in front of the camera. They really enjoy being together, and it was so sweet to capture the love they have for each other and their baby. (I can’t wait to photograph their newborn portraits!) They laughed and just enjoyed the session which always just so much fun. Oh, and the light was just so dreamy. It’s so secret I love sunset light, and I just loved, loved, loved the light the day of their session.

Oh, the cuteness!!! I have loved photographing this sweet little one’s newborn, three months, and now six month portraits. She was just so cute and full of smiles for her six month portraits, and her Mama picked out the most adorable outfits for her. It is so sweet to photograph the first year and see how they grow and change. These two are just so laid back and love hugging and snuggling their little one – it’s such a joy to photograph the three of them together. I just love allll of these..it was hard not to post all of them – such a sweet session documenting her six month milestone!

According to Mom..

What are your little one’s favorite toys? Sophie, stackable rings, books, teething rings, Mozart music cube

Does she have any favorite foods? Everything!

Does she have any pets/siblings? How do they get along with your little one? Giuliana has a brother and a sister, both of whom are beagles. They are largely apathetic towards her except when they think food might be involved.

What is your favorite part of this stage/milestone? She is so happy and interactive! I love her smiles and laughs. Getting more sleep at night doesn’t hurt either.

Any advice for your favorite things that make life easier with a baby? A high tolerance for chaos and dirt

Does your little one have any favorite books or songs? She likes to chew all of her books. She likes the songs her daddy sings to her.
