One of the absolute most amazing moments of my life was when I first held my son. A dear friend of mine who is a nurse was there to help with delivery and she got the camera and snapped the first pictures of us as a family of three. I am so thankful that she even thought to get the camera and to capture that special moment. I cry every time I watch the slideshow of us hugging and kissing him. Without her there, I am sure that our camera would have stayed in our bag.
Before a birth session, we set up a date and chat about what to expect, what you want and don’t want for the session, etc. I usually stay 1-2 hours after birth to capture memories with the siblings/grandparents, the first bath, etc. I will also take pictures of a C section when allowed by the hospital.
