Um, yes, it’s true! Owen’s going to be a big brother in January. We are so excited, and I absolutely couldn’t wait to share the news. (Yes, we will be finding out if it’s a girl or boy and I’ll definitely keep you updated.) Thanks to everyone who’s kept me busy the past few months – it has helped the time fly by faster. I’m definitely feeling a lot better than I was in the first several weeks. Since I’m due in January, holiday sessions will only be through November and the fall is booking up quickly. (Contact me for more information) I’ll only be taking a few of my first year sessions in December. Thanks to everyone who has let me bring snacks to their sessions the past few weeks. We are so excited!

We had perfect weather & light the evening of his Senior portraits, and wow, the location was perfect. We discussed a few options in the Raleigh area and decided on the perfect spot. {This was my second session here (see the first here) and I’m beginning to LOVE this lake!}Don’t you just love the ones with the boat and the ones in the boathouse with the oars? Seriously can’t pick a favorite from this session. Such a sweet family and I had so much fun with his mom – it seemed like everywhere we turned was a perfect place for a few photos. He picked out his outfits which really went so well with the location and thankful for everyone who let us squeeze past them or moved for a few minutes or kept the boats out a little bit longer so that we could snap a few photos. It was such a beautiful day that there were a lot of people at the park.(See one more from this session here) Oh, and Class of 2014, if you are thinking of booking your Senior Portraits this fall, Now is the time! Can’t believe it’s already been a year since his 2nd birthday. We ate so much cake this year – cake the night before his birthday, his traditional morning of his birthday cupcake, and then, of course, his cowboy cake. He loooooooved blowing out the candles and wanted us to light the candles over and over again. We continued the tradition of waking him up with balloons which he loved and he spent the morning playing with his new toy for his cars and his big pirate ship. Even with the water from the heavy rains covering the sandbox, he had such a great time at his cowboy party. (you can see his 3rd birthday cowboy portraits I took here) After the kids had finished eating and had played for a while, the boys were up at the table screaming for cupcakes and cake – they were way too cute. That cowboy cake from Delicious bakery was super yummy too! Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate Owen’s birthday and made it such a special day for him!

I love this session because its just everything happy and summery. Plus, this family is just so much fun and I felt like this session just went by so quickly because everyone was laughing and just so happy. This brother and sister were just so cute, reading together, chasing each other and giggling like crazy. And you know I love all the fun things they brought (princess dress, a favorite book, legos, baseball = fun and memories, love, love, love) Don’t you just love the ones where she’s dancing with her daddy in the her princess dress? So sweet! It was a fun evening at E Carroll Joyner Park in Wake Forest with just perfect light. (I love evening sessions in the summer – light in the evenings is just so pretty!) Joyner Park is just beautiful and one of my absolute favorite spots for sessions in Wake Forest.

We really had just gorgeous light for this session, and wow their little one was just so happy and loves giving her mama kisses – ADORABLE! She was just so sweet and there were so many I loved from this session – it was hard to pick which ones to blog. One thing I love about summer – the hydrangeas are blooming (see here and here and here) I have some in my own yard that I had to move a few times before they were happy – they need just the right amount of shade. And they only bloom in June & July, maybe a little bit in August, but I’m scared to cut them in August because they might not bloom the next year. Oh, and they were definitely in my wedding bouquet. Okay, enough about gardening and hydrangeas but they are totally my favorite flower so whenever I see them blooming, I just have to use them for portraits…and this little one was just so content in her rocking chair that we got some adorable photos of her in front of them. Her mama had everything planned out from their super cute outfits to the special rocking chair she wanted to use for the session. Looking forward to seeing this family again in a few months!
