Who doesn’t love yoga on the beach, right?
So I have not posted a goals post in such a long time. Wow – the first year is just such a busy time and I’m loving every minute. Harrison is such a blessing to our family – such a little dream come true. One thing that has been so special over the last year is watching these two become best friends. This month has been the sweetest..watching them interact together. They even found a toy they both loved playing with which I think made Owen’s whole year. (“We can play together, Mom!”) We had such a great time at the beach Labor Day Weekend and was also the last Coastal Session which made me so super sad. I hate saying goodbye to summer – it’s so my favorite and just seems way too short. While we were there, Owen and I decided to add to his shell collection so we could make some crafts when we got back from the beach so a few days, we got up early in the morning in our pjs and headed to the beach to shell hunt. Just had to add a few photos of the cuteness of these two together.

Goals for September:
*Research and make some crafts with our seashell collection from the beach
*Plan our annual apple picking trip. (Can’t believe it’s already that time and Harrison gets to come this year – yay!)
*Find some good non-fictions books to read at the library. We loooooove the library and I’d love to find some good non-fiction books for Owen to read since he’s been really interesting in learning more facts lately. (You can see him reading the 3D sharks book above. I now know sooo much more about sharks – eek!)
*Try to finish picking out our wardrobe for our family session next month
*Get all of the dates finalized and released for the Free Holiday Mini Sessions. (10 Minutes, one free image per child, free when booking a 2015 session)
*Come up with a few new lunch ideas for Owen
What are your goals for September?

Just realized that I have not blogged this sweet newborn session from around 4 months ago. (I have a lot of sessions to blog and I promise I am going to try to get caught up on them in the next few weeks.) Just saw this little one last week, and she is just getting so big! Her big sister is still so proud of her, and I loooove the photos we were able to capture of their first days together. Newborn sessions at home are really just my favorite – you don’t have to go anywhere, I can help with wardrobe, and I also love getting to capture the siblings in their room. Every session is just so different, and I absolutely love them! And this big sister, she is just so animated and fun. She was just talking to me about her room and her stuff and loved being photographed in her room. Ok, just had to squeeze in this post now it’s back to editing another sweet newborn session.

Dates will be released so soon for the Free Holiday Mini Sessions! (Soooo excited!!) These were just so much fun last year, and I can’t wait until this year’s sessions! If you have already booked a 2015 session, I’ll be sending out the dates/times first before releasing the final dates. And I know I mentioned it in the post below, but I’ll only be taking one Coastal Session per holiday next year so if you’ve been thinking about booking one for next year, let me know!
The Free Holiday Mini Sessions are 10 minutes and include one free image per child. (These are just for the kids – not a family session) They are held at a super cute Christmas tree farm in Raleigh so you can pick up your tree while you are there. All images are e-mailed a few days after the session and you can pick the one free image per child and also purchase additional images if you choose.
Stay tuned to the blog and facebook for more information – dates will be released in the next week or two!

One reason I love beach portraits so much is that they are FUN. And if you’ve had a session with me, you know that I really try my best to make the session fun, too. So photographing families at the beach is such a favorite of mine. It’s easy to have fun at the beach, right? The weather was just perfect for this session, the beach was quiet, and big brother was just soooo excited about the water. I love soooo many of these – it was hard to pick which ones to share for the blog post. One day soon I hope to have some sweet family portraits of our family at the beach, too, because I just love them so much. Such a beautiful background and sweet family memories are the best. I will also add in that the beach is not like a super glamorous location..we do laugh through windy hair, falling into the ocean, and being covered in sand. The fun, happy family portraits are so worth it!
So super sad that my last Coastal Session for this year is this weekend. (And reallllly hoping the rain stays away!) I will be offering them again next year, only one session per holiday. It makes it so much easier when having to reschedule for weather, like when there was a hurricane July 4th week. If I only have one session, there’s a lot less stress in planning around weather. If you’re thinking about booking one, remember that I will be opening up the Free (when booking a 2015 session, one image per child) Holiday Mini Sessions in a week or two. (See more information here) Those of you who have already booked a 2015 session will be sent dates/times first so if you are thinking of booking a Coastal Session for next year, dates will go fast. And if you booked your session early last year, you know there’s a lot of super great stuff planned for 2015 if you book early!
This has been such a great summer – I am really thankful for such a great year this year, meeting so many new clients that have become great friends and looking forward to the busy fall!
