When It Rains, It Pours

Just a quick preview from Ericka’s family’s super quick Coastal mini, because, of course, the rain came back as soon as we got down to the boardwalk. (We did not even make it to the beach for their mini!) It’s been a tradition of theirs since they started coming to Holden when I first started Coastal minis, to have a session at the beach, so we had to at least get a few photos in. Ericka spent some time shopping during her vacation for the perfect little props for their session. There were alot of giggles at the end as the rain started dripping – some more super cute photos to share.

We had such a great time at Holden the week of July 4th – see the previews from our first ever Coastal family mini sessions here. (These will be sent out next week if you’re waiting on yours!) We also went to turtle time, tide dye Tuesday and Ericka went on a dolphin tour – more on the blog soon! So thankful for this girl + her friendship. She always seems to make my wild ideas happen. is super creative, comes up with the best ideas, and is awesome at making things original and fun. Truly thankful for her friendship!

Surrounded by Love 

Oh, I was so excited to meet this little one Saturday morning. I couldn’t even imagine when I photographed baby sister’s newborn portraits that one day they’d have the sweetest snuggliest baby boy, too! And his three big sisters were just all about him, which he didn’t seem to mind. He was just content the whole session, which, with three siblings, usually someone is not all about being photographed, but these four were just precious together. And their mama has been such a great friend to me from the moment I met them. (And the last time I photographed them was when the daisies were blooming last year! eeek!) It was a super chill morning at home – I got to see their super cool coffee maker, and wait until you see this little guy’s nursery. Alot of thought and love as poured into his room. And, don’t miss the yard art one of their sweet friends left them as a surprise. So glad they are back in North Carolina and I got to meet their baby boy!

The light was just gorgeous the evening of their maternity portraits – perfect summer evening. I first met and photographed these two and their puppies at this very park. How fun to photograph them celebrating their new baby (who I get to meet so soon – so excited!) These two are just so sweet together – lots of laughter and were just such good sports in the heat. They also have some of the sweetest and most well behaved puppies which added a lot of fun to their portraits. I also was so excited to see the daisies. You never know if they are going to bloom or how long they will be at the park before they mow the field. I was just so excited to see them. Beautiful light, sweet puppies + the sweetest couple = perfect evening in Wake Forest.

This summer has been so busy with maternity + newborns, and the next few weeks is going to be busy with sweet babies. We only have a few more newborn spots left for fall + 2016 will be booked. Contact the studio for more information as soon as possible and for more information.

Holden Beach Family Photography Mini Sessions |Coastal Session Mini Previews

Our first ever Coastal Session Minis were this week! And we were so excited to have a boat at these – so much fun! There were a lot of giggles, bubbles, and then you know, a huge rain storm and a house fire somewhere on the island that stopped traffic for a while. Overall, we were able to get so many sweet images for these four families and so many memories made. Thanks to everyone that came and made our first ever family Coastal minis a success! Raleigh Family NC Photographer | Goals for July

The week of July 4th is definitely one of my favorites for the year. Some of my beach goals include

  1. Ride bikes every day
  2. Eat watermelon as much as possible
  3. Proco
  4. Make ice cream in the vitamix (ok, it’s just fruit but we’ll call it ice cream)
  5. Build sandcastles
  6. Make memories..sometimes take pictures of them and sometimes relax
  7. Read my bff kindle
  8. Get a coffee at Ocean Boulevard Coffee because I haven’t bee able to the last two trips.
  9. Take Owen to the waterslide

For July a few things I want to tackle are..

1.Getting back into a workout routine. I haven’t worked out since March, and just this past week I started walking. (If you are my fitbit friend, you will notice my steps have gone up) After the week at the beach which is usually alot of steps to and from the beach, I need to get focused again, now that I can run and do other workouts without worrying about my heart racing. (bye, bye SVT) Oh, and we will be doing a lot of bike riding – yay!

2.Books I want to check into this month..

If you have been following me, you know I’m a big whole30 fan. Here’s a few of the cookbooks I want to check out. (I am trying to be more creative with my whole30meals)

*Well Fed – There are a few Well Fed books..like the weeknight dinners one so I’m not sure yet which one I will check out.

I have been reading like crazy the past few months so I will share my recommendations soon. Just kinda forgot, you know, so much going on with this.

3.Ok, next goal – Organize my fridge. I have looked at too many pretty organized inside of refridgerators on pinterest. I’ll post a little update later this month with which way I decided to go. So many possibilities..
