This mama was 38 weeks the day of this underwater maternity session. We had so much fun laughing, trying to stay underwater, adjusting my camera settings, etc. I love the bright, colorful clothes, and I was also so glad that big sister could come and join us for a few photos at the end of the session. This was my second time taking underwater photos (I tried a few at swim lessons here) and it’s really fun and such a unique look. I love these so much – hoping I have big enough of a belly by the end of the summer to try a few. (In case you missed it, I’m due in January! yay!) Her little one has now arrived and I can’t wait to take her newborn portraits soon! The summer is going by so fast – if you’re interested in some underwater portraits, contact me soon!

I drove three hours for this little one’s newborn session, (Yes, I offer travel sessions – Contact me for more information!) It was such a peaceful drive – up early and headed to Virginia. There was so much breathtaking scenery and photo worthy stops on the way there, I had to keep myself from stopping. I think I showed up around 9 – 9:30 for the session and we were finished around 12-12:30. I think both this little one’s mama and I were both shocked at how well it went and the adorable images we got with her big brothers. She wasn’t yet two weeks old, and she was just so content and happy for us to move her and pose her  and loved snuggling her mommy and daddy.  Her big brothers were also pretty proud of her which was adorable!

So excited about the Back To School Mini Sessions Coming Soon! Just had to share a quick preview of all the fun props! They will be for ages 3 and up, and there will only be a limited number available. It’s been so much fun photographing this sweet family over the past several months. Can’t believe this little one is already six months, and wow, was she happy for her portraits! It was a gorgeous sunny evening but just a little bit hot. (But this little one did not know it was a million degrees – she was just so happy and content!) We all braved the bugs in the field, and she was just laughing and giggling away which made us laugh too. The field had also gotten pretty high so we were stomping and throwing down quilts to make sure there weren’t any snakes. (Yes, we just kept on laughing. I have stepped on a snake before so I just knew one was hiding waiting for me)  Her mommy and daddy just love her so much, and I love how we captured that in these photos. Looking forward to capturing the rest of her first year which will be pretty close to my due date.

Speaking of the fall/winter, if you are thinking of booking a family session, I only have a limited number of dates left for October and November. This year, I’ll also be offering something new and different. Still trying to figure out the date, but I’ll be offering a free holiday mini session if you book at 2014 session.(April – December 2014) The mini sessions will be for children only and you’ll receive one free image per child. (Additional images can be purchased.)

Oh, and I’ll also be announcing information about the Back to School Minis in the next week! They are going to be soooooo cute!

What a sweet session this was, and how special for these little ones to have their great grandmother and great aunt visiting from Peru. Don’t you just love this little one with his great grandmother below? Just so incredibly sweet! Not only was this session special but it was fun. We just laughed soooo much. I think we even walked down the boardwalk back to the house laughing. I had to keep my hands still to click the photos, I was laughing so much. I LOVE sessions on the beach, especially close to sunset. Just the prettiest light, and I love capturing sweet family memories on the beach. Little ones are usually just so happy playing in the sand and running in the water. ( I know Owen is!)
