It just seems like things have been crazy busy lately, from a super busy spring with my dad’s surgery straight into summer. With having both kids at home, things are definitely a lot busier. And I love summer so much, so I love soaking up summer….one thing I am especially loving right now is the Sunflowers. Ericka had to drag me out on Sunday kicking and screaming because I would have stayed there all night – ha! They are just so beautiful and so fun to shoot in. (We have one more night of minis tonight!) I may or may not have gone back last night just for fun. I will be so so sad when they are gone! I’m just so glad that the City of Raleigh planted them somewhere else this year, and we can all enjoy them. So, back to the topic of being busy, ha! I try to keep editing + getting photos out to clients at the top of my priority list so sometimes blogging gets pushed back, and I loooove blogging my sessions. This evening really just turned out to be perfect. It was one of those great weather days in the middle of unbearable days. We really lucked out, and the kids were just so happy and relaxed. It was such a fun time downtown while this family said goodbye to Raleigh with one more photo session.

According to Mom..

What’s your favorite family activity? We have a weekly “movie night” with candy and popcorn. Everyone looks forward to it.

Who are the members of your family and a quick fact about each one!

Bryon (Husband and Dad): He likes brewing beer, is one of five boys, and enjoys international travel.
Leslie (Wife and Mom): She loves CrossFit, playing with her kids, and recently became a massage therapist.
Oliver (6 years old): He is a sweet boy that loves snuggles, pudding, and his little sister.
Evelyn (4 and a half years old): She loves playing with Mom and Dad, watching “shows” on her iPad, and going to gymnastics. She wants to learn to ski, to ice skate, and to dance.

What was your favorite part of our session together? It was a beautiful day without a lot of humidity. Becky always makes the session so laid back. There is never any pressure to finish up the session quickly. My favorite part was seeing how much Evelyn loves her brother and how much of a ham she is for the camera.

Tell me about the outfits you wore to the session. Bryon’s clothes were in his wardrob already. I bought Oliver and Evelyn’s at Target. My clothes I bought at Kohl’s. I wanted everyone to be comfortable especially since the session was at a park. The kid’s clothing colors complimented each other, so Bryon and I tried to coordinate.

Did anything eventful happen during your session? Only that Evelyn LOVED being photographed.

Were you worried about any parts of the session beforehand? The only worry was whether or not it would be too hot during the session.

What are some words of wisdom you have for other families preparing for a session? Decide on your clothing well in advance. Also, reach out to Becky and her team if you have any questions about wardrobe or other things.
