It was so super sweet to see this little guy with his puppy. And what a sweetheart she was! I get to meet so many puppies while working, and I love seeing them with their babies. Mabel was just such a sweet dog too. I love that we were able to get some bright eyed and some sleepy pictures of Finnian with his family + his puppy. Newborn sessions at home are the best because you have nowhere to go, it’s just focused on you and your baby. And everything you need is right there. (Isn’t it amazing how babies are just so small but need so much!) It was a great morning with these four + loved meeting this sweet family!

According to Mom…

What was the first thing you thought when you saw your baby for the first time? Seeing Finnian for the first time was a wirlwind of emotions: awe, wonder, amazement, relief, and overwhelming joy were among the first. It’s so difficult to describe, but it was the most amazing moment of my life by far. I had no idea what to expect, but it surpassed my wildest expectations. We are so in love with our little boy!

What was your favorite part of our session together? The best part of having our newborn session together was how relaxed and calm you were! I was a nervous wreck and felt super anxious about my body and the baby cooperating, but you totally made me feel like you had everything under control and knew exactly what to do to get the most perfect pictures. It was wonderful doing them at home because, especially as new parents, it’s really stressful trying to take the baby out to places (and even more so in the first two weeks!). On top of that, the pictures look so natural and feel that much more special since the setting is our own home.

How did you prepare the baby for our photoshoot? I did my hair and makeup and felt very happy that I actually was able to do both on time!:)I also worked with the stylist to order some clothes, although I should have tried them on because they didn’t fit. Other than that, we tried to clean as much as possible, but luckily it didn’t matter too much once you got here and we just shuffled the clutter when we needed to (which was really helpful!)

How was your experience having your newborn photographed? Were you worried or nervous beforehand? How did it turn out? I was nervous and worried that he wouldn’t cooperate, but it worked out great and you were SO patient and knew lots of good tricks to get the perfect shots. It turned out PERFECT and we could not be more thrilled with the pictures! They are so beautiful. I was also so worried about how I would look, just two weeks post partum. But you made me look great and I feel like I was covered up without being cropped out.

What would be your advice to someone having newborn photographs taken? Relax and don’t stress because Becky knows what she’s doing. They will turn out beautiful and you will look great too!

Did you have a sentimental item at our shoot? We used two blankets that my mom knit for the baby. One was the first baby blanket we received, and my mom actually started knitting it before we revealed my pregnancy…she already picked up on the hints and knew before we told her!

Was there a sentimental item in your nursery that we photographed? The crib and quilt, along with the mobile are special. I’m so glad we got nice pictures of the nursery!

Do you have any other children? How did they react to the baby? We do not have other human children, but we got so many amazing pictures with our first furbaby, our dog Mabel! We love the pictures so much! She’s so much a part of our little family.

Any favorite baby gear so far? Or things you’ve loved that you’ve bought for the baby? We really love the 4Moms play yard. We use the bassinet attachment for his bassinet in our room, and it’s so easy to pick up and take places for traveling. We also have a BOB stroller that’s awesome and super easy to maneuver. Lastly, we love our Kindercarry baby carrier and Keekaroo Peanut changing pads!

Any other advice to families preparing for photos or picking out wardrobe? Wear what you’re most comfortable in. Simple, and form fitting is best!
