I first met this sweet family when big brother turned one, they came to the holiday minis, and it was so great to photograph them again at home, hanging out at their house, photographing reading together and their everyday moments. Snacks were nearby and the kids had fun playing with all their toys. Love all of the memories made during this morning spent just hanging out at home, and also that we captured some of their everyday routines like eating lunch. Oh, these two were just so adorable together!

What kind of feel were you thinking for your session? We wanted the session to feel really natural and low key. Since we did the shoot in our home we just wanted it to feel like a “normal” day in the life. Becky captured that vibe perfectly!!

What was your favorite part of the session? The whole session was great! The kids had a few cranky moments but Becky did such a great job with making them feel comfortable and capturing beautiful photos of everyone. I love how easy and laid back everything was and that many of the shots were candid moments. It really captured the moments of happiness and love.
What’s your favorite family activity? Going to the Museum of Life and Science and riding the choo choo train (at least that’s Remy’s favorite- ha!). At home we love watching movies and eating popcorn on the weekends and playing in the back yard.
What was the weather like the day of your session? t was supposed to be cloudy but the sun came out and it was super bright! We managed to get some lovely outdoor shots even though it was hard to find the right light outside with the intense sun
Why did you enjoy your session? I love that we were able to do the session in our home/backyard. It really captured this time in our lives beautifully!
Tell me about the outfits you wore to the session. I chose the outfits from things that we already owned. I wanted our clothing to be casual and subdued. Aurora picked out her fancy pink dress herself! We were at the store and she grabbed it and wouldn’t let go so I decided that was “the one”
What are some words of wisdom you have for other families preparing for a session? Be ready to just go with the flow- especially if you have toddlers! Also- SNACKS. Feed the toddlers lots of snacks.
Were you worried about any parts of the session beforehand? I was worried that the kids would not want to sit still for the photos. Becky was able to get some amazing running around/candid shots of them so it worked out perfectly! She worked with them and made it seem like it was all meant to turn out the way that it did.
