Raleigh Newborn Baby Lifestyle Photography – Sweet Little Smiles

These three together was just so sweet….how precious is their little one?! His mama picked out some really pretty blues for them to wear, and planned and decorated such a cute nursery. She has their home decorated just so beautifully (and great light, too, yay!) so we took some portraits in several rooms in the house. Newborn sessions at home are just so great because there’s no rushing around to go somewhere, trying to pack up a million things for baby, and really the sessions are no rush either. It’s also so great to have portraits taken in your home and your nursery. I love, love, love, them! And just love the little close ups of this little one, too. And love his sweet little personality and smile!

According to Mom…

What was your favorite part of the session? The best part of having our newborn session at home was that we didn’t have to go anywhere!

How did you prepare baby for the session? We just tried to make sure the house was tidy, or at least the rooms we knew we wanted to use. We picked out outfits for everyone and laid out the special items we wanted to feature.

How was your experience having your newborn photographed? Were you worried nervous or worried before the session? The unpredictable nature of a newborn makes me nervous any time we have plans, but Becky was incredibly patient and understanding!

What would be your advice to someone getting newborn photographs taken? Hire Becky! She makes the process very easy. And she gave us a few tips to calm our little guy that we’re still using to this day!

Did you have a sentimental item at our session? We did! My Mom made Henry a quilt that we used in our shoot. There are also a few blankets we used that were either made by or give to us by family members.

Was there a sentimental item in your nursery or parts of your nursery that we photographed that are sentimental to you? The sock monkey on the dresser in the nursery was made by my Mom, before we knew if we were having a boy or a girl. She used it to announce that she was going to be a grandma. Once we found out we were expecting a boy, we ended up basing the color scheme for the nursery on the sock monkey.

Any advice to other families picking our wardrobe or preparing for family portraits? We had baby and Dad’s outfits picked out. And then I had a few choices that Becky helped me narrow down. It’s hard to know what’s going to fit or look good, but Becky was an impartial third party that gave me an honest, professional opinion. Also, wear your maternity pants; they’ll smooth everything.

How would you describe your perfect Saturday as a family? Henry would of course give us two long stretches of sleep overnight:)and then we’d just spend the day hanging out, taking a stroll through the neighborhood and enjoying our new family of three.
