Saturday was such a fun and perfect morning celebrating Mamas and their babies. When Ericka from Little Apple Styles  and I first spoke about these, she immediately came up with so many great ideas! (She is just so talented – follow her on instagram here) This was a 2015 Limited Edition client event – open to everyone who had already booked a 2015 session. Originally, there were only going to be 6 spots and those sold out within an hour, so we opened up an evening time slot (6 more sessions) which also sold out within the next two days. (We were sooooo excited! I LOVED working with Ericka and seeing all her ideas for this session come to life!) We will be planning some more exciting things this year, so if you are not on the e-mail list or have not liked Rebecca Keller Photography on facebook, you will want to stay tuned for the next announcement. (I had so much fun with these, so I am really about to bust to announce our next event. I was a little nervous about Saturday and the weather, but the greenhouse was  great shelter, and also had my super awesome umbrella hat (See behind the scenes photos here) Thank you to everyone who came out and for being flexible with changing times to avoid the worst of the rain and everyone made this event so much fun! Thank you to all the dads for jumping, singing, squeaking giraffes, and pulling out all of their dance moves to make their little ones giggle.

This sweet baby boy just dreamed and dreamed. Newborns sleep a lot, but I rarely show up to a session where they sleep 90% of the session. (but we were able to get a few wide eyed images!) He was just precious and loved being held by his Mommy and Daddy. I also loved that these two had a pot of succulent plants (so pretty!) – we just had to use them in an image or two. So great to meet this sweet family and photograph those first moments at home!

According to Mom…

What was your favorite part of the session? I liked how laid back Becky was, it allowed us to relax and not feel self conscious during the session.

How did you prepare your baby for the photoshoot? We made sure he was fed and that our house was warm!

How was your experience having your newborn photographed, and how did it turn out? It was great. I am very pleased with how the photos turned out, Becky did a great job capturing those precious moments.

What would be your advice to someone having newborn photographs taken? Relax and enjoy your baby! They will come out great!

I am so excited that our first Limited Edition Spring Event is happening tomorrow morning! (And hopefully before all of the rain rolls in. They are forecasting rain mostly in the afternoon so really hoping it stays that way!) Ericka from Little Apple Styling is just amazing and sent me this preview today – aren’t the purple flowers just gorgeous? It’s going to be so much fun! I am really so excited, I don’t know how I’ll sleep tonight! And with all those April Showers lately, everything is looking so beautiful and green. It was all of a sudden in the last few weeks that everything quickly went from brown to beautiful green. And the azaleas blooming – so beautiful. (I loooovvve spring. It’s probably my favorite with the weather – when it’s not storming, and I love seeing all the flowers bloom and the pretty spring trees.) Loved meeting this sweet couple and photographing their session to celebrate the upcoming arrival of their little one. I love maternity sessions – so much fun and how special to have images of the last few weeks before your baby is born! Their puppy was just so sweet, and I loved his name, Buckeye. Looking forward to photographing their sweet baby boy soon!

According to Mom…

What was your favorite part of the session? Becky was very friendly and made us both feel comfortable. We didn’t feel rushed.

Were you worried about any parts of the session beforehand? We are first time parents so all of these things that go along with pregnancy are new to us, so we just weren’t sure what to expect, but Becky made us feel like we were hanging out with an old friend.

Do you have any pets, and what are their names? We have 1 dog, Buckeye, and 2 cats, Kaldi Bear and Leo Minor. We loved to be able to have Buckeye in a couple of our shots.

What is your favorite tv show you watch together? Nashville!

Three months is such a special milestone to document. (I have loved when my babies have gotten to three months because that means I am getting more sleep – woo hoo!) At three months, they are still usually awake for such a short window of time, and it’s so great to capture their sweet little smiles and personality. And this one was just so adorable and I loved capturing such sweet moments with her Mommy and Daddy. One thing I love about milestone sessions is photographing the things they don’t do very long, like playing with Mom’s necklace (just precious!) Oh, and her rubbing her eyes! Love that we captured how sleepy she was at the end. We had a perfect evening, and I just couldn’t believe how big she’d gotten since her newborn portraits!

Who are the members of your family and a quick fact about each one?

Carrie – a Leo

Frank – loves homemade beer

Giuliana – loves milk and pacifiers

What were your favorite parts of the session? Becky is so efficient and professional. She also makes us feel special – it’s as though she doesn’t photograph babies day in and day out. She is very supportive and reassuring. She is also a pro at working with babies to get them to smile. I loved that the session was so quick – only 45 minutes!

Tell me about your outfits you wore for the session. Frank wore what he always wears. I wore whatever fit. Giuliana wore two sweet dresses my mom bought for her before she was born.

What are some words of wisdom you have for other Mamas preparing for a session? Wear something comfortable and bring a hairbrush.

Were you worried about any parts of the session beforehand? I was worried she would cry the whole time.

What do you wish/dream for your little one? I want her to be healthy and happy.

Did you bring any of your little one’s favorites to the session? According to Mom…”She likes breastmilk and I brought them to the session. ha.”
