I have a lot of blogging to catch up on starting with this sweet family newborn session at home where big brother totally stole the show. He was so adorable and happy to show me around and show off his baby brother who was just so precious and content the entire session. When I arrived at their home, oh my, the ivy in their backyard was just gorgeous! Loved every image from this session and meeting this sweet family!

According to Mom…

What was the first thing you thought when you saw your baby for the first time? Relieved. He was born by emergency c section and I was just so happy to see him blink and hear him breathe.

What was your favorite part of our session? I love having pictures of the family at home in our normal/comfortable environment. And it’s just so much easier to manage a newborn and toddler at home with their own toys.

How did you prepare the baby for our photoshoot? No prep was required, which is absolutely the very best part. Becky showed up and worked around the mood/vibe/enthusiasm.

How was your experience having your newborn photographed? Were you nervous or worried before? I was nervous before, since you’re making a big investment you want to get a good outcome but Becky was great with our older son and put me at ease by reassuring me that there was no rush and she would work with us. No rush, no pressure, exactly what you want.

What would be your advice to someone getting newborn photographs taken? Try to relax and enjoy the fun. Also, try to think of special items/locations/outfits that you want to have in the pictures.

Did you have a sentimental item at our session? We had a rocking chair in a few pictures that was handmade and has been passed down for 3 generations.

Do you have other children? How did they react to the baby? Our older son has reacted well to the new baby. No cute stories yet, hoping to have many in the future.

How would you describe your perfect Saturday as a family? A hike, a picnic and then a good long nap for everyone. 🙂

Any advice to other families picking our wardrobe or preparing for family portraits? When our first son was born I was just wearing yoga pants and a t shirt, this time I put a little more thought and just tried to find something comfortable and simple.

I am still going through all of these beautiful Mommy baby sessions and blogging them. What a special event this was with so many sweet families. So thankful for all of Ericka with Little Apple Styles help with the styling during the mini sessions. (We just released information about our next event August 1st! What was your favorite part of the 2015 Limited Edition Mini Sessions? The setting was absolutely gorgeous! I love that my husband was trying everything to get our son to smile for the photos, even if it included dancing and jumping while playing our little one’s musical toys! It definitely worked!

Was it fun having a stylist at the event? It was really fun! Ericka is AMAZING and the flower crowns were so beautiful!

Tell me about the outfits you wore to the session. I wanted to wear a simple white dress so it would go with any of the flower crowns, and my son was wearing an outfit given to him as a present from France.

Were you worried about any parts of the session beforehand? I was worried about the rain (but it held out thankfully), and also if little one would be cooperative since he was sick, but he was all smiles and the pictures turned out great!

Oh, I am so excited!!! Today is the day! Well, tonight at 8:30 PM an e-mail will be sent out with booking information for our next event with Ericka of Little Apple Styles! This one is going to be so adorable – I cannot wait! This is a very custom event, and information is only being sent out to the e-mail list this evening. Also, this event will only be opened to 2015 clients first. (Our last event sold out in one hour!) Right now, we know we only have one date due to everything involved but could possibly open up another date if we have availability with all that has been organized for this event.  (ya’ll, Ericka is amazing!! So many sweet Mamas and their babies came to the 2015 Limited Edition Spring Minis with Little Apple Styles! We were a little nervous about the rain that morning (Ok, I was super nervous!) but the rain held off for most of the morning, and the greenhouse + my lovely umbrella hat were perfect even during a little rain. These three were dressed perfectly for a morning in the garden, and were just so happy and full of smiles! This event was only open to 2015 clients, and we have another special event with Little Apple Styles August 1st we start booking Thursday evening! Our last event sold out in one hour. This was our very first Greenhouse mini on April 25th and we were just hoping the rain would stay away. (It did – for most of the sessions!) These two little ones were just so happy and full of personality for this sweet session with their mama. You can see some of the behind the scenes of my facebook and instagram pages. The dads were really great about helping to entertain the little ones – jumping, running sprints, dancing around with all kinds of light up toys! This day definitely took so many people and it was such a beautiful location for our 2015 Limited Edition Spring Event with Little Apple Styles. Thursday we start booking our event August 1st so make sure you are on the e-mail list! The last event sold out in one hour!

What was your favorite part of the 2015 Limited Edition Client Event? The fantasy aspect. It was so sweet to have a Mom and child session.

What did you think of the flower crowns? I loved the flower crowns…amazing!! What did your little ones think of the new props? They loved them!!!

Tell me about the outfits that you wore to the session. I just tried to match colors.

This mama did such a great job matching all three of them – love the outfits she chose, and the flower crowns Ericka with Little Apple Styles picked for them were just perfect!
