So I’ve been editing this sweet little one’s annual summer portraits this afternoon, and it made me so sad that summer is over..the pool is closed and school has begun. Not that I don’t love fall, I do. I cannot wait for cooler temperatures! That will probably be the best thing about the third trimester with this pregnancy. (My third trimester with Owen was in May – June) So I decided I need to make a fall bucket list. I have totally already had a pumpkin spice latte, (or two!) and we will definitely take our annual trip to Hill Ridge Farms for our pumpkin. Everyday Owen suggests a different Halloween costume. We’ve picked up a few fall books (Owen loves Click, Clack, Boo!) I probably need to check Pinterest as I know those of you I follow have been pinning yummy pumpkin recipes. The next few months are probably going to be a whirlwind since it’s such a busy time of year with all of the holidays. (Owen reminds me all the time that he gets a new brother after Christmas) So, for fall, any suggestions? What’s on your fall bucket list? I need ideas and to start planning!

Remember this sweet family? Can’t believe their little one is already four months! He is just so happy, full of smiles, and loves being snuggled by his mommy. All you have to do is talk to him and he smiles right away. I just love the portraits of these two – those first months are just so special. I couldn’t believe it when I found this location (so gorgeous!) And, wow, it is stunning at sunset. I’ve photographed one more session here, not sure how long the flowers will be blooming, but if you are thinking of booking a weekday sunset session, this spot would be perfect. Sun + flowers is my absolute favorite – just love the images from this session.

So I may have added a little bit more than 10 for this month’s 10 on 10 Blog Circle. This is Mr. Man’s first year in preschool – last year he went to Mother’s Morning Out one day a week, but this is his first official year enrolled in preschool. Oh, he was so excited, especially since one of his best buddies is in his class. The first few are from the day they met their teachers, and they absolutely LOVED their classroom. I think they got every single toy out, played dress up with all the costumes, and colored their hearts out. Um, Owen in the superman costume was my favorite..I can’t believe I didn’t snap a better photo but you can kinda see the costume in one of the images.  His first few days at school have been really fun, and I can’t wait to hear about all he’s learning this year!

We also took a short Labor Day trip to the beach with friends. Since Henry and Mudge and the Forever Sea is one of Owen’s favorite books, he had to make a big sandcastle with his daddy just like Henry. (way too cute) It was so sad to say goodbye to summer. It’s so quiet after Labor Day and everything closes. I had to find out if my new favorite coffee spot was going to be open weekends during the winter. Even though this year there might not be as many beach trips with a new little one arriving. It’s going to be a busy fall and then a busy winter with a newborn.  I will be starting with first year sessions again mid-March and booking sessions full time in April.

Head on over to Natalia Walth Photography to see her take on this month’s 10 on 10.

So while editing Back to School Mini Sessions, I just had to stop and share this super cute brother and sister. It’s not everyday a horse stops by during the middle of your session – so incredibly awesome. Of course, we had to take a few photos, and how cute was she with the horse? The outfits their mama picked out for them were bright and colorful and looked great with the background and props. These two had so much fun in the park, giggling and hugging and playing with the apples. I love how little brother took a bite of one of them during one of the photos. These two definitely knew how to make their mini session fun! Looking forward to taking some more photos of this sweet family in the fall!

It’s been a long time since my last goals post – such a busy summer and I’m so sad to see it go! We spent so much time at the pool, the beach, and the doctor trying to get mr. man’s skin under control. It was amazing that the pool was what helped his eczema the most. After seeing a dermatologist and a new allergist and with full allergy testing last week, we now know that he has no allergies. I honestly couldn’t believe it. His allergist is awesome and said that the allergies would definitely show up at 3 so now we know that it is not an allergy. The dermatologist has been awesome and we’ve seen the biggest improvement after seeing her.  So thankful that little man’s skin has been better and I know he is too!

I’ve been trying to document this pregnancy so as you can see in this post, I’ve shared a few. The first two my mom took for me (thank you!) in her backyard and the next one I used the camera timer which really feels like a miracle if you get one in focus using the timer! We spent this past weekend at the beach with friends who snapped a few for us so I’m excited to see those, too. We got to see little brother this week and he was just rocking and rolling in there – she was having a hard time trying to get his heart but he finally calmed down for a few minutes. Can’t wait to meet him and see his little personality and what a good big brother Owen will be. (Ok, I’m going to start crying here.)  I am sooo excited about this baby. I need to block facebook at night because I look at way too many newborn hats and ready to ship sales. They just pop up everywhere on my newsfeed and I just have to look at all the sweet baby stuff.

I am really sad to see summer go. I felt like it went by sooo quickly which really did help since I haven’t felt all that great so far during this pregnancy. Getting out and working always seems to help me feel better so THANK YOU to everyone who kept me busy this summer. I will say, I am definitely looking forward to cooler temperatures, fall, and pumpkins. I may have already had a pumpkin spice latte.

Owen went to his first day of preschool today (sniff, sniff) I will miss him these mornings but I know he is going to have so much fun! He has the sweetest teachers and it sounds like they have so many fun things planned! (I will be sharing a few photos soon of his Meet the Teacher Day)

Okay, goals for September:

1.Finish Back to School Shopping for Owen – he has worn sandals all summer so I need to find some sneakers…and he has to pack a back up pair at school too.

2.Start planning Holiday Mini Sessions. This year I will be offering one day of Free Holiday Mini Sessions (One free image per child – additional images can be purchased.) when you book a 2014 family session. If you have already booked a 2014 family session, you have a spot! These are the only mini sessions I will be offering. All fall weekend dates have been booked for 2013.  I only have two newborn spots available and a limited number of weekdays available.

3. I have so much work to do on going through Owen’s clothes, toys, etc to get ready for this baby. I need to figure out if our car seat has expired, look into a double stroller, and try to figure out where everything has been stored (the swing, exersaucer, etc) I have forgotten how much baby stuff there is. Any recommendations are welcome!

Okay, off to finish editing Back to School Mini Sessions this week and I have a fun session planned tonight! Looking forward to all of the sessions in the next few weeks.
