It was a beautiful warm day when we met for this little one’s One Year Portraits. You just never know with the weather these days – it can be like July in October or like this week, several dreary days in a row. (Looking forward to sunshine soon I hope! I did see some sun peeking through the clouds tonight.) I love that we were able to capture so many happy family moments with the three of them, and the outfits his mama picked out were just perfect. (You know I love navy and yellow! I think it’s most of what my child wears these days!) Love all of the sweet images of him just laughing at his mommy and daddy – so sweet. Oh, and CAKE – wow. He got to have a cupcake at the end of the session, and man, he LOOOOVVVVED it. It was just too cute to see him eat that cake!

This newborn session was just so sweet and dreamy. This little one was just so happy and content to be held and snuggled by her mommy and daddy and we were even able to get a few with her sweet puppy. Their nursery had beautiful light and we were able to capture a few more portraits in another spot in the house. I love the beautiful handmade pink blanket her mama had out for her that we were able to use for a few images – just stunning. And don’t you just love that sweet newborn smile? She is just precious! Just love capturing these sweet memories of the first days at home.

This has been such a fun month photographing so many sweet newborns. Just a reminder that I am expecting a little one in January and will be on Maternity leave January – March. Charleston is super special to us..Michael proposed in the gazebo at the Battery. This trip was so quick – we were really barely there, but I was glad that we were able to get away for a few days. This was probably our last trip anywhere for a while (getting so excited that we’ll be having baby number two soon!) And I spent all day Saturday at the Seniorologie Shoot Out so that was a big chunk of our trip. We definitely got to go to some of our favorite spots and try a few new places – loved the macaroni and cheese at Cru Cafe and the beautiful view at Fleet Landing. We ate our favorite coconut cake and took Owen on a carriage ride…(and we got the Battery tour -yay!) We also found some cool lego candy at one of the many cool candy stores and I just love the photo of Owen on the moon at the Moon Pie store.

When we arrived at the park for their maternity portraits, my favorite spots had been mowed. (This huge area with the beautiful yellow flowers – completely gone.) I was so super sad but seriously thrilled to find these two perfect spots of light – love all of the sunshine in these images. (This is my favorite spot in Wake County for sessions – the light is just stunning in the evenings.) I love every single image in this session – it was hard for me not to share every single one (but I think I almost did!) I love that they wanted to capture images to show their baby girl how loved she was even before she was born. Okay I’m going to start crying…been photographing so many sweet families and newborns this month, I just can’t wait until January. Such a sweet family, and I hope that my baby stays put long enough for me to photograph their newborn!

The Seniorologie Shoot out in Charleston was amazing (See more here.) It was so much fun shooting, learning, and meeting other photographers. I wasn’t sure how my pregnant feet would handle shooting all day, but the day just flew by. I learned a lot from speakers Leslie Kerrigan and Courtney DeLaura, loved shooting the Ellen and Ollie clothes, and also the location was stunning. The styled shoot that they put together was just so much fun and I love all the details and thought that went into the day. (Love all of the clothes/props that they picked out!) Not only did we learn a lot, shoot a lot, but we also had yummy food and a great gift bag. Kelsie Boles also did the models hair and make up and they all looked stunning. Hoping to make it to another shoot out or the Seniorologie Tour in the future!
