This is the 5th session I’ve had with this family – they are just so sweet, and wow, their baby girl is just so happy and bubbly – she LOVES the camera. She was full of smiles and on the move for her 9 month portraits and we found ways to keep her still for a second – sooo cute! Her mama always picks out the cutest outfits for her and she’s always so happy to be snuggled and held by her parents. I can’t believe her first year is almost over, and I just love how you can see her happy personality shining through in these images. Hoping to squeeze in one last session with her before our little Harrison is born!

Speaking of Harrison 🙂 I had a little panic moment at my doctor’s appointment this week when they told me I had to start coming every two weeks. Really? Oh yeah, I really don’t have that much time left which totally sent me into nesting. The whole nursery has been torn apart and re organized. (Still in process) All of Owen’s clothes have been reorganized for Harrison. If you have heard the story about me and the newborn hats with Owen, another hat may have been ordered in a I only have a few weeks left panic. I may have watched the What to Expect Movie while editing yesterday and bawled my eyes out. Michael just laughs at me..my favorite quote of his about me being pregnant, “Can you turn on the heat and then turn on the fan at the same time? Thanks!” He never knows what to expect.

So with all this being said, the few dates I have available after Maternity leave are starting to book up. If you are thinking of planning a weekend spot or a newborn session in April, I have two newborn spots left for April and only a few weekend dates left. Contact me for more information. It’s going to be a busy spring! (And after the cold temperatures that rolled in yesterday, I’m already ready for spring!)

We love books at our house and of course, the former second grade teacher in me – we’re always making connections, talking about what the books remind us of. Owen loves talking about…”This reminds me of…” He has been so enamored with fall and all the things that remind him of fall – it’s become a fun game. And now, everything reminds him of something. These are just a few images that will remind me of our fall…trips to get gelato, his love of coloring, how much he loves his sweet puppy Charlie, all the sweet drawings he hangs on the refrigerator daily, and of course, our trip to the pumpkin patch. I think riding the pony was his absolute favorite.  I can’t believe how fast these last few weeks before little Harrison arrives are just flying by. We’ve had a lot of cloudy/rainy days this month – this was one of those mornings where it was actually raining on my way to their house. We started with a few portraits inside. It was kind of amazing that the rain stopped until just after her one year portraits were finished. This little one’s pigtails were just so cute, and I love the happy portraits with her mama – so sweet. She was so active and full of energy – just loved running and exploring everywhere. So glad we were able to capture some fun, happy portraits to celebrate turning one before nap time and the rain rolled back around!

This fall, and wow this year has just flown by. I know I’m going to blink and it’s going to be January – just can’t believe it! I usually try to post goals closer to the beginning of the month but things have been super busy around here lately!

Goals for November

* Of course, goal number one is to get caught up on blogging and editing – so much to blog/edit. Just so thankful for all of the sweet families I’ve met and photographed in 2013.

* I will be hosting two (yes, two!) contests in the next few months so make sure you’re getting my facebook/blog updates! So super excited about both of these and I hope to get both of them done before our little one arrives

* Not a goal for this month, but just wanted to announce that we have picked a name – Harrison Graham. Not too long before he will be here!

* Plan out my Christmas craft bucket list for Owen. Since I won’t be shooting much after the next week, we should have plenty of time for crafts around the house. I’m already so ready to get the tree out!

* Take Owen to find a really great leaf pile for jumping before they are all gone!

* Get Christmas cards ready – really hoping to send out a Christmas card this year.

Okay, back to editing, and maybe another blog post soon!

I’m a little bit behind on blogging – such a busy month of shooting/editing. Just had to stop for a minute in between editing to share this cozy newborn session at home with this sweet family.  I love how Mom wanted to capture a lot of their everyday things – playing legos, coloring, etc. and also the excitement of their 6 week baby brother. This mama is also an awesome decorator – the nursery and the whole house was decorated so beautifully – everywhere you turned in their house there was so much inspiration – she is definitely talented. Love that we captured all of these sweet memories at home (you know newborn sessions at home are my favorite!) Things are starting to wind down for me as my belly is getting bigger and bigger, and I am a little sad that I will have to stop shooting for a while. Except you know, super excited about our little miracle and please forgive me already for taking and sharing 3,000 photos of him when he arrives. And, Owen, wow, I had to make him a little album of ultrasound photos to carry around the house with him because he was dragging the big pile of photos everywhere showing his baby brother all of his toys, etc – so incredibly sweet. He told everyone at preschool Monday that he’s getting a baby after Christmas – just melts my heart. Ok, enough rambling or I’m going to start bawling..just so incredibly excited!
