In case you missed this instagram, Owen had a blast at the Big Brother class at Rex. (Um, yes, you know I love Rex and I am soooo looking forward to the blueberry pancakes soon!) The class was so super cute and his little brain soaked up every single minute of it. He was very serious about learning about the new baby that will be coming to his house. They watch a video and then they go into classes by age to discuss what it’s like to have a baby at your house and of course, practice changing a diaper. Then, they took the little ones to see a hospital room (which was set up for labor and delivery and I felt a little sick after that) and a stop by the nursery so they could see a tiny newborn baby through the glass. How special and sweet and such a memorable day for Owen. P.S. He loves twirling his hair – it’s now his signature hairstyle. Just love him to pieces.

Our favorite part of the class –

“What are some songs that your Mommy and Daddy sing to you that you could sing to the baby?”

Owen, “Jesus Loves me, and… I got the Magic in Me.”

Michael and I were in tears.

This was one of those fall sessions with the pretty leaves and such a gorgeous evening for family portraits. We started out in one spot and when we started exploring the park, we found the most amazing leaf pile ever. Perfect pretty leaves and tons of them – you know the little ones were excited! (And of course, I had to bring Owen back there. He loved it too!) Such a sweet family – I first met them when their littlest was three months old (still one of my favorite images – such a sweet mommy daughter photo) – can’t believe she’s already so big. And look at how sweet these three little ones are together – and just so cute!

What a sweet session this was – and so many sweet moments with the two siblings. She was such a proud big sister and loved hugging and kissing her baby brother. This was also one of those sessions that I just loved in color and in black and white. Little brother was just so content and slept for most of the session – he was just happy to be snuggled and cuddled by his family. These two also came out to the Holiday Mini Sessions, and I look forward to photographing them again during this little one’s first year! I completely missed my December goals this month with so much going on, The Holiday Mini Sessions, finishing up editing, and still trying to figure out what I might need for this new baby. I haven’t really even thought about it until the last few weeks – probably the whole nesting thing. The past few weeks I’ve been struggling with contractions off and on which I had a lot of during my first pregnancy so I haven’t been able to really nest like I want to. At least most of the baby clothes are washed and hanging up in the nursery! The next few weeks, this Christmas season, will probably be a lot quieter than most years…definitely a little more quiet than last year. I can’t keep working non stop like I usually do, no more traveling out of Raleigh, and so more time to spend with this little guy. I can’t believe he will be a big brother so soon. There are a lot of goals I thought about this month – so many things for 2014 also, but then I decided, really just spending time with him was enough. It’s about to get crazy around here and he’s probably going to be a little overwhelmed. The big brother class at Rex was just too cute and he such was a serious listener. I’m just so thankful for him everyday, I love his sweet little three year old heart. Even though he knows their official name, he calls doughnuts. “The brown things with the holes in the middle.” Just love all the sweet little things he says. So for December…for the next few weeks, I’m just going to focus on our little holidays, traditions, and I’ll definitely finish up the last few business things before 2014. I will still be blogging – so much more to share from this fall..and don’t forget, there will be a big contest in 2014 for a free session. So this sweet family is so special to us – Michael and Scott have known each other since their Ohio college days. You can tell just how loved these little ones are and how much fun they have together in these images…. And how cool that they wanted a session with their couch..and I was amazed they got it outside in the middle of the afternoon. It’s always nice when you have friendly neighbors to help. Being super pregnant, I’m not much help with too many things these days! Their mama is also great at decorating and their house is full of so many neat things. It was one of those days where it was cloudy and getting super dark early, and I was glad we were able to bump it up an hour..By the time I left it was getting pretty dark. The weather has been so sporadic this year – we can have super sunny mornings and cloudy/dark afternoons or 80 degrees one day and freezing rain the next!
