Sharing a preview from our session last night – these two just have so much fun together! We laughed & laughed. And speaking of yesterday, wow, it was gorgeous. I don’t think we could have picked a more perfect day for portraits – especially with how crazy the weather has been. Last night was just so beautiful – the park was packed out. Everywhere we turned we saw picnics, people walking, flying kites, remote control airplanes, we even saw some hammocks strung out among the trees. It’s hard to believe I’m writing this the very next day and it’s super cold and sleeting! Winter weather advisories and preschool closed early – it doesn’t even make sense! We found a pretty spot in the field for some sweet images of these two. Will be sharing all of them in a few weeks!

Oh my, this session from Saturday was just kinda perfect – such a peaceful session at home. It was a little dark and gloomy when I got there but then the sun came out for such a beautiful afternoon. I love the images we were able to capture at home of this sweet little guy at only a week old. He was all of 6lbs like our little guy so it was so sweet just to see how tiny Harrison used to be. (At 12lbs 9 oz, Harrison looks huge now!) It was so hard to pick one to preview – I loved so many from their session. Sessions at home are great because they focus on the first days as a family and you really don’t need a whole lot of space..We can always find pretty light to capture moments that focus on your family and first days home. They also had the sweetest puppy who followed me everywhere. When I got there, he was just too cute, looking out the window. So, of course we got a few images with him, too! Stay tuned – you will not want to miss all of the images from this sweet Raleigh newborn session that will be on the blog soon!

Photographing this sweet little one’s three month portraits reminded me of just how fast little Harrison is growing, too..Her newborn portraits were only a few weeks before Harrison was born. I think I finished editing them Christmas Eve…or just a few days before. (The end of December is just a blur now.) She was just as happy as can be for her milestone portraits with her mommy and daddy. (For more information on first year mini sessions click here or Contact me for more information) Looking forward to more portraits with her big brother, too, later in the year! I photographed his newborn & first year portraits, too, and sessions with this family are always so much fun! Just wanted to share a little preview – will have the whole session blogged soon!

It may have been a little quieter the past few weeks..I feel like things are just starting to settle down with our little guy. The first few weeks with a newborn are really busy. We have been able to get out and take walks with the nice weather; I am REALLY looking forward to spring. We don’t have a great outdoor double stroller – looks like I will be investing in one. (So if you know anyone selling a double Bob or awesome outside double stroller let me know.) Owen has really enjoyed the walks, too.  He keeps reminding us about how much he loves summer when “his hands and feet are hot and not cold like with snow.” He likes the snow for about ten minutes and then goes back to talking about summer. It makes me want to sing, “It’s Summer,” from Frozen everytime he brings it up.

So now that things have settled down now it’s time for me to focus on the postpartum weight loss. Yay! Fun! I’m over halfway to losing the baby weight but still have a long way to go. So my goals for the next few months may be more about working out. The whole stage of I’m not pregnant anymore but I can’t wear my favorite jeans is just not fun.

Goals for March:

Finish the four weeks of the Super Shred Diet… I’m on day 6. I’ll let you know my before and after results when I finish and what I think. The smoothie with chocolate chips has definitely been my fave.(and the fact that I can have two cups of coffee – woo hoo!) I haven’t been posting a lot of about it on facebook but I’ll be updating my progress on instagram – you can follow me here. I have several people ask me questions about it and like with any diet and exercise program, check with your dr. to see if it would work for you. The diet does recommend working out for around 40 minutes each day which leads to goal 2….

Complete Alpha of T25. I’m on day 6 and I will admit this is tough.  I am mostly doing the modifications because also I don’t want to overdo it just starting out exercise again.

Write things down..Ok, I know this sounds funny but I seriously need to write things down more. Does anyone else feel like this? Like, I’ll think of something I need to do or some great idea let’s say around 10 am…By 3 PM I’m like what was that idea I was thinking of that I needed to write down. It’s all a big hazy cloud and I can’t remember. Some of this probably has something to do with the fact that Mr. H is still not sleeping through the night. (Both of us totally need this t-shirt)

Learn more about Google +. Definitely loved looking through everyone I’m following this week. Just need to make sure I have my profiles up and running like they should be. You can follow me here and here.

And last goal for the month is to order Harrison’s newborn album. I usually order an album every six months but I really want a book of his hospital photos and first weeks at home.

Oh, and this month’s theme for my blog circle is Something you love….just love this little guy. Click here to view Squamish Family Lifestyle Photography Haley Lorraine Photography’s take on this month’s theme.

Oh, his mama always dresses him just so cute! Love, love, love his bowtie and their matching Father/Son hats. I just had to share a preview from our session in downtown Greensboro last weekend. It was such a pretty afternoon – can’t wait to share the rest of the images and a few this cute little guy eating his birthday cupcake. Super excited about all of the first year babies I will be seeing in the next month since I am not on maternity leave anymore. Oh, and some really sweet newborns this month, too! If you haven’t booked a first year mini session and have been thinking about it, let me know! Spring/summer dates have been booking up fast. And if you are a 2014 client, don’t forget to save the date.
