You know when you show up for a session and everything has been discussed and planned ahead of time? This was one of those where Mom and I chatted, everything she said agreed with the contract, we laid out expectations for the session beforehand…and I think we got everything we hoped and so much more! This little dream come true was 5 weeks old the day of his newborn portraits so we both knew it was not going to be a sleepy session and we might get one or two of him asleep. Oh, he was so full of personality and just soaked in his mommy & daddy! I love that he was awake…I could go on and on about the sweetness in all of them. Love the one of him looking up at his daddy, or the one of him and his mommy touching noses with his name on the wall in the background. And how cute is he being held up in front of his wall announcement! Sooooo cute! This was probably one of my quickest newborn sessions ever, too, which was surprising since he was 5 weeks old. I don’t think this session could have gone any better.  I love the heirloom christening gown Mom had for him made out of a WWII parachute and we photographed him in an heirloom cradle, just too sweet. Fun session with great music playing in the background, especially loved this little man’s favorite song!

Just got back from NY last night. What a fun trip it was, but man, am I exhausted! I am back to blogging, editing, and working this week. May is going to be so much fun – and I can’t wait to finish all of the sessions I have to edit! I finished this session right before I left for NY. What a fun, dreamy maternity session with perfect evening light. I also love their little dog that came to the session – he was just so sweet and stayed right where we were…until the very end when we were taking photos in the dandelions. Out of nowhere, he got a second wind and was off. I love, love, love the little shoes mom brought – sooo cute! Can’t wait for their sweet baby girl to be born soon and to photograph her newborn portraits!

Just a reminder that tomorrow I leave for NY. I needed a photo for this post right? My awesome friend Bobbie snapped this image from my last trip to NY circa 2005 (I am really amazing at hailing a cab..Well, not really. I’m not sure we ever got one! I think we had just finished eating some amazing cupcakes, too.) I will be at the Pinkle Toes Workshop Reunion (so excited to see so many friends!) starting tomorrow through May 4th. Do you see all of that pretty green in the background?!?! GREEN! (YAY!) The trees finally have leaves and wow, it is gorgeous out there! I love, love, getting that pretty green in the background. And this sweet baby girl is just so happy and so many sweet photos of her with her older brother – they are just so cute together. Can’t wait to share all of the images from this sweet family session and YAY for spring!

When I look at the images of this session, I just think of the word happy – such a sweet and happy family. The moment I met them, they were just so laid back and fun, and their little ones – soooo cute and full of personality. Big sister loved being spun around by her daddy and I love the image of her kissing her baby brother – soooo sweet! This was one of those fun family sessions where I blinked and just couldn’t believe how many images we were able to capture in such a short amount of time. And you know I love the pretty sunset light in these. (You know photos at sunset are my favorite!)

That’s kind of my word lately…just happy. That’s what I aim to capture for you – the sweetness of being together….happy family images that you cherish and make you smile when you see them on your walls. (And I hope they are on your walls! Don’t forget to print and enjoy them!)
