   Little Gift

Cary Apex Newborn Photographer

I was able to go on a brief trip to NJ/NYC this summer and photographed this sweet family the day after I got back. So many giggles and smiles.(And you can see big sister’s newborn portraits here) Carter was just such a content baby and his sister with him was the sweetest thing ever. I am laughing that Mom’s favorite part of the session was me throwing things – anything to get the photos, right? What a little gift this one is to his family, and so thrilled to see them again!

According to Mom..

What was the first thing you thought when you saw your baby for the first time? We were just so thankful he was here! We tried for a while to have a second baby and dealt with some real disappointment during that time, so to finally have him here was just an overwhelming joy!

What was your favorite part of our session together? My favorite part was definitely when you started throwing things around to get Remie’s attention.

How was your experience having your newborn photographed? Were you worried or nervous beforehand? I wasn’t worried or nervous at all because I knew from experience it would go perfectly! I was elated that you were able to fit us in on short notice and make me feel so much better about getting great newborn pictures.

Did you have a sentimental item at our shoot? Recreating some of the same images you did when you photographed Remie is really neat and special. Also, the pictures including the blanket my mother knitted for Carter are amazing.

Do you have any other children? How did they react to the baby? Remie LOVES her baby brother. She tells him countless times each day and he’s the first thing she looks for when she walks into the room. His little head is actually the first thing she’s ever truly kissed with her lips. She’ll do the motions and act like she’s giving a kiss, but she’s actually kissed this sweet baby’s little head and it’s the sweetest thing.

How would you describe your perfect Saturday as a family? We like to exercise together in the mornings. In the summer, pool time with a picnic lunch is so much fun. And in the fall, going to a pumpkin patch or a hay ride is the best! BBQ for dinner followed up by going out for ice cream… sounds like our perfect Saturday!
