This summer I got to photograph so many sweet families, and loved that I got to photograph this sweet boy’s one year portraits before his family moved from Raleigh. We got up early in the morning (Oh my, do I love the early morning light at this park, just so pretty!) And I love the steps, just a beautiful spot. The kiddos puppy was there, too, but he mostly hung out at the park instead of being photographed…photobombed a little bit, too. (See some super cuteness with their puppy during baby boy’s newborn portraits here) Because of the summer heat, this was a quick morning session. Love, love this summer session (and all things summer really) but I’m hoping for a little bit of fall this year. I feel like we always get a spring, but maybe not always fall. Sometimes it goes straight to cold. (Well, you know, cold in North Carolina, which is freezing to us) I need to start working on our fall bucket list soon, you know, things like apple cider, visiting a corn maze, pumpkin picking, leaf crafts..Ok, yes…fall, please come quickly! What would be on your fall bucket list?

And speaking of fall, wow. Our minis this year are going to be so amazingly cute! And if you have not booked one yet, we have just a little tiny amount of spots left, so if you want more info, contact us ASAP! We are going to try to do a few pop up minis, too, depending on if we can make it work! (So many fun ideas this fall! So excited!!!!)

Only Sleep

Oh my, this sweet little boy just slept and slept during his entire newborn session. With a newborn, everyday can be so different and their schedules can be different so just never know what they are going to do…but this sweet little guy just stayed in dreamland the entire session. Love all these sweet images with his parents! Such a cutie!

According to Mom…

What was the first thing you thought when you saw your baby for the first time? I thank God he was healthy and so perfect. I felt blessed to have my baby in my arms and my husband and family right next to us.

What was your favorite part of our session together? Becky made us feel very comfortable from the moment we met her when she arrived at our home. Getting direction from her was very helpful to be able to take pictures with our newborn without waking him up. Hehe.

How did you prepare the baby for our photoshoot? I fed him right before the shoot and during the shoot. Half way through.

How was your experience having your newborn photographed? Were you stressed or worried beforehand? I was nervous that he will get uncomfortable but it turn out great! He was very relaxed and helpful.

What would be your advice to someone getting newborn photographs taken? Don’t worry too much about it. Newborns sleep most of the day and they will cooperate. Most of the time is the adults that are nervous. Hehe. Also, Get a good swaddle blanket that will be fitted to the baby.

Was there a sentimental item in your nursery that we photographed? At the shoot we had this handmade rug my friend Angie created for our baby Daniel with his name. The fact that it is now August is breaking my heart. Only 17 days of summer left for my boys, and I will miss my oldest so much when he goes back to school. What are your last summer plans? I feel like I need to squeeze in every last bit of summer the next few weeks. I loved these watermelon minis so so much because they just scream summer. (And I miss pretty sunny summer days, when, oh when is all this rain going to stop?!?) Watermelon, fourth of july and a blue truck. What more do you need? This little cutie was just so happy + laughed at Ericka and I for being so silly. Love all the sweet pictures of her with the watermelon!

Watermelon + Trucks

I have love, love, loved photographing this sweet family since this baby boy was born. He just has the happiest sweetest personality and loves his Mama so much. He was just so cute with the truck and loved the watermelon, too. Such sweetness!

Posting all of these Watermelon Minis with the truck is reminding me about the phase where Harrison was obsessed with Truck Tunes,, Truck Tunes 2,and don’t forget, Truck Tunes 3. I could take him anywhere because truck tunes made him so happy. I remember one dentist appt I had and he just happily watched and listened to truck tunes. He has now traded his truck fascination for Lightning McQueen. It’s pretty much everything race cars over here. It’s funny how quickly their interests change and they get involved in something else.

And lastly, speaking of mini sessions, we are still finalizing everything for fall because it’s such a big endeaver. But soon, super soon!!! Stay tuned!

It’s Thursday, which means one more day until Friday + the weekend! Who has big plans this weekend? My next big adventure is editing all of the Sunflower Minis! (See a few previews here) It’s been a busy spring/summer with all of the minis we had the first part of the year, and today Ericka and I have our big fall planning meeting. We have so many fun ideas, so today is where we narrow it down and finalize everything. (So excited!) We are going to have some new minis this fall, so sign up for the newsletter or join our facebook group to be the first to hear about everything!

We were so excited to see this sweet family again for our Family Minis at The Little Herb House. Those pigtails…the cuteness, I can’t even. I first met them at their maternity portraits, and it’s been really fun to watch her grow. Such a cutie!
