A few favorites from this week..

Oh my goodness, these silhouette necklaces, love.

The GoodRX app. My dermatologist told me about this..so great. It compares prescription prices at different pharmacies near you + also sometimes has coupons.

Cozi family organizer. Love all the notifications and reminders and that Michael and I can both sync on our phones.

Reading with Owen. I love that he loves to read so much and we can spend quality time together just sitting together and reading.

I really love the whole, “Collect Moments not Things,” motto…I’d love a sign or frame in the house with that printed…(but then you know, it’s another thing to buy HA) We’ve traveled a lot over the past few months, and I just enjoy it so much. We’ve been emphasizing with the kids putting our money towards trips and not toys they will toss after a month.

I, Eliza Hamilton I just read this to get ready for going to see Hamilton, and it was so so good. A great way to learn the history about Hamilton, especially if you are going to the show.

Favorites from our NYC Trip.

There’s always something new to do/see in NYC…here are a few favorites from our trip last week.

Murray’s Bagels. Delicious. I had the poppyseed bagel, and it was amazing. So many great bagel sandwiches to choose from, too.

Dough. This place was so yum! Sometimes doughnuts can just be too much, but these were perfect. The salted chocolate caramel and the lemon poppy were my favorite.

Burger and Lobster. I can’t even. We ate a burger with lobster on it, and it was unbelievable.

Black Tail. What a unique spot – super cool.

Pizzieria Sottocasa. They fly in Burrata cheese every weekend (you can only get Fri – Sun) so of course we had to try it. yum!

I’ve also really wanted to try Cookie Do NYC for a while, and it was super sweet and yum.

Milk Bar Bakery. Chocolate chocolate was my favorite followed by the Chocolate Chip Cornflake cookie.

Most of this was food…We also had fun seeing the ACC Tournament in Brooklyn. (UNC beat Duke, go heels!) and we went to see Hamilton. It was really fun, and Michael actually really enjoyed the play. I loved reading the I, Eliza book beforehand, but I was glad I hadn’t listened to the music, and everything was a surprise. Super fun!

“You are never too old to set another goal, or to dream a new dream.”

-C.S. Lewis

Images of our Family by Bethney Beckhaus Photography

I love this quote from C.S. Lewis..I have been reading this book  with a few friends, and this quote stuck out to me so much. It applies to anyone at any stage of life..Keeeeeep dreaming. I’m also rereading this book with some women in my neighborhood. It was so good the first time, I’m excited about reading it again.

Neutrogena Sunscreen. You can also get this at Costco. I’m notorious for leaving my kids with what they call “ghost faces” after putting on sunscreen, but this one is so easy to rub in. We were in Disney this week for Owen’s winter break (we upgraded to the annual pass from our tickets last month) so we have been putting on lots of sunscreen. (89 degrees)

Sweatshirt Blankets. I have one that I super duper love, especially for long trips like this week. (we drove) Owen loves mine so much and always tries to steal mine..He keeps asking for one, so maybe I’ll get him a fun one like this one

I need to do a post of my favorite Disney tips and tricks, but two new things we tried this trip that I loved were.

-Avatar Flight of Passage in Animal Kingdom. What a great ride and definitely Owen’s favorite.

-Sci-Fi Drive in Movie Diner. Such a cute place to eat, and the boys got to sit in a car and watch clips from movies.

Target is getting ready to launch a Hunter boots collection, how fun is that? Coming April 14th to a store near you.

If you’re trying to mix up your workout routine..I can’t even ..”we ain’t never gettin’ older…”

In all seriousness, the past few days, I’ve been doing some of the blogilates workouts on the you tube app on the tv and love them. She even sends out an email with a calendar of which videos to do which days. She has some super cute yoga mats, too.

Our family Disney photos from Bethney Beckhaus Photography. Harrison is now asking for a Dumbo birthday party.

I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library

-Jane Austen

Trader Joe’s flowers. They are the bessssst. And with valentines coming up, always a good reason to pick some up, right?

The Woodwright’s School in Pittsboro. How cool is this place? Ericka and I got to see a class in progress while we were there last week, and what an amazing place. I Need to find out if they have classes for kids because I will be signing Owen up! (You know I love all things Old Salem and Williamsburg, so I am all about this. And if you haven’t been to Pittsboro, it is worth the trip!)

Sweet’s Syrup.  A dear friend of mine told me about this, so we are currently taking all the elderberry to hopefully ward off more sickness. The kids love the way it tastes, too!

Renting videos on Lifeway.com. I recently bought a new Bible Study at Lifeway for my quiet time everyday, and I love that you can rent the videos that go with it. So many great videos to watch here.

Giving keys has a mini collection – love these!

Addis Jemari. This week I photographed their new collection of bags. Not only is this non profit amazing, but the bags are so beautiful! I can’t wait to share all of the images soon!

Katie Daisy Baby Swaddles are coming soon! Katie Daisy is one of my favorite artists (see her new book here!) and I am so excited that she is coming out with baby swaddles soon!

 Stranger Things Valentine Cookies. yesssss!!!

I really still can’t stop listening to Ed Sheeran and Andrea Bocelli. On repeat, all day everyday. My kids are so tired of hearing it, I am sure. If you haven’t seen it yet, watch now. which reminds me I haven’t listened to it yet today, so turning it on now…I’m always walking around the house…”Dentro la nostra musica….”

After finishing When Calls The Heart, there is a Christmas special on you tube. Love how tv is now with the apps you can watch you tube on the tv. I’m so thankful for my husband, I’d still be watching my college tv and vhs. (We just recently got rid of this tv…)

I somehow missed that you can get pineapple upside down cake with your Dole Whip because I am always in the zone and order, “Pineapple pineapple float” as soon as it’s my turn. So next trip I will be ordering this.

This week I finished The Woman in Cabin 10. It was a really good quick read for me, right up there with  Gone Girland  The Girl on the Train. (If you liked both of those books, this is a good read)

Owen and I finished reading aloud In The Belly Of The Earth I will admit, it was a little intense but my sweet seven year old just loved it, and it was a great way to spend time together. I just wanted to get to the ending so badly, I almost cheated and read it while he was at school.

“Don’t underestimate the value of Doing Nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can’t hear, and not bothering.”

-Winnie the Pooh

I finished When Calls the Heart on netflix this week and now I just need to know, are there more seasons?!?

Airplane mode. This really makes me happy because I go to bed super early friends..Ever since I was pregnant with my second child, I started going to bed early. Mainly because I just need my sleep to function. Putting my phone in airplane mode means no late night texts or messages wake me up and it’s always fun to get all the notifications when I turn it back on the next day.

Forever My Girl Movie. A friend and I were able to get out and go to a movie one late afternoon this week which was super exciting. Movie popcorn? yessssss! So it just sounded like it was going to be a sweet love story movie, which it was. But also, super emotional and so many tears…like sobbing having to use the movie theater napkins to wipe my face. (but I cry at every movie seriously. but this one YES)

I met Mariah in Orlando when she did my hair and makeup for our family photos in Disney World. She is such a make up genius and I was super amazed how she covered up my broken out skin from all the Florida humidity and walking. She has a great tutorial for covering up blemishes but still looking natural here. And she sells her own makeup line here.

Another fave of mine is fast forwarding through suspense and tv/movie scenes I do not like. Michael is always like WHHHHATTT? Why are you fast forwarding? The show is finally getting good…And I’m all like NOOOOO I can’t watch!

On a healthier note, I made these Toasted Quinoa Cashew Butter Cups this week, and they were even Michael approved.

Harrison and I watched Winnie the Pooh together one evening, and oh, do I love Winnie the Pooh. (and I think we have a new Winnie the Pooh fan in our house) We joined the Disney movie club this week (5 movies for 1.00 and then Harrison got a free Lightning McQueen blanket, and you know he is obsessed.) So we have more movies to get us prepared for our next trip, which is right around the corner.

I got some of the Harper + Ari sugar scrub for Christmas and forgot about it. Yes, i know, HOW DO YOU FORGET about sugar scrub?!?! I love the single serve option! So fun!

These boots.  I didn’t buy any tall boots this winter but if I was going to pick a pair, love these + how comfortable they look!

February Goals

Raleigh Maternity Photography

Really looking forward to February. So many sweet things planned this month like our Soda Shoppe Valentine Minis that we are super excited about! It’s also my mom’s birthday which is super fun to celebrate. Hearts everywhere, I love February.

Ok, there are so many books I want to read right now including

Rereading One Thousand Gifts. If you haven’t noticed, I’m reading a lot of Ann Voskamp right now.I’d also love to get a Write the Word Gratitude journal, and some journals for the boys so that we can write out what we are thankful for. I’d really like to take some more time to be outside with the boys (when possible with the weather) just walking and talking about what we are thankful for.

Take a watercolor class. This has been something I’ve wanted to do for a while, and with my mom’s birthday coming up, it’s perfect timing, and we are so excited.

Give more compliments. How many times do you think something and not say it? I really want to be better about this.

Plan 1-2 little adventures with the boys

Encourage more.

Write a few letters and mail them instead of just emailing all the time.

Go see The Greatest Showman before it’s out of the theaters

Attend as much of IF Gathering that I can

I started a slimmer grocery budget in January and I really want to stick to it in February too. Continue the plan and continue eating out only once a week.

Read aloud to Owen more. Harrison and I read out loud picture books, which is so much easier, right? Owen and I have been reading out loud from In The Belly Of The Earth and what a sweet time it has been. I can’t wait to find out if he’s going to be rescued. If you’re looking for some great read alouds, try this website.
