This Mama and I had been emailing back and forth about their little one’s six month mini session + she mentioned a pretty spring tree, maybe a Bradford pear. I happened to be driving by when I spotted this tree far off the road, and I knew it was the one – ha! (I may or may not always have location ideas on my radar anyway. Just can’t help it) I was so excited we found this tree + the light was just perfect. Hard to believe it’s been six months since their sweet newborn session at home. (Eeeek! I love newborn sessions at home!)

Who are the members of your family and a quick fact about each one? Chris, my husband and Anna our sweet 6 month old (first child)!
Does your little one have any favorites? Anna loves “If you give a Mouse a Cookie,” and also loves this toy chicken that she has.
What was your favorite part of our session? I really love Bradford Pears in the Spring (even though they smell horrible). Becky spotted one before our session and let me know that it would be a little walk from the parking lot to the tree. It was a beautiful day and so we put Anna in the stroller and had such a nice time getting a little exercise while we found the perfect spot to take pictures. It was just so nice to be outside after a cold winter!
Tell me about the outfits you wore to the session! I wear mostly neutrals so I stuck with that for myself- a cream top from LOFT. Chris also wore one of his favorites- a neutral from Jos. A Banks. Anna is a spitter… I mean she spits up on EVERYTHING, so I brought 2 outfits just in case. Good thing I did because I think we only got through 1/3 of the photo shoot before she spit up all over outfit #1. Both outfit choices were from Baby Gap- love their stuff!
What are some words of wisdom you have for other Mamas preparing for a session? Bring extra clothes and toys just in case and don’t worry!
What baby gear has been your favorite during the first year? The baby swing is probably one of our favorite items. It’s so nice to be able to sit Anna in it while we try to eat dinner or do a few things. She loves it and goes right to sleep almost every time! We also love the aden and annis burpy bibs- Anna wears them daily as part of her outfit.
Do you have any pets? How do they get along with your little one? We have 2 cats and they are actually getting along with Anna much better than we expected. Tommy is the younger cat and he was kind of the baby before Anna. Occasionally he gets jealous and acts out, but for the most part they really love Anna and love watching over her!
