Raleigh Train Third Birthday Photography – Choo Choo!

We got special permission to use this super cute train location for this little one’s third birthday portraits. He was sooooooo excited to see the trains and had so much fun bouncing around to all the different spots. His mama is a stylist so she definitely dressed him so adorable and picked the perfect background for this session. I’ve been photographing this little one since he was six months old, and he is always so full of smiles and so much fun to photograph! His mama also had his portraits displayed at his party – a super cute photo display with several from this session and also a huge print behind the party table which was sooooo cute! See a photo from his party here!

According to Mom…

How old is your little one? My “baby” just turned t-h-r-e-e . I am still unable to pronounce the word..haha

How would you describe your little one in three words? Mischievous, stubborn and loving

What are some of your little one’s favorite toys/activities? Ethan is a train lover. It can be little or big, real or a toy, as long as it is a train, he will be all over it. He would watch videos of trains travelling for hours if I let him (thank you YouTube!). His most favorite song is the wheels on the bus. His most favorite food is watermelon. He really can eat fruit all.day.long

What made the theme of this session so special? I knew the perfect place will be a train station, since he just LOVES trains. The theme of his birthday party was going to be trains, so I could see his pictures all over the house..haha. It is getting harder to get him to cooperate with pictures, but this session was so easy – he was SO happy and excited to be surrounded by trains that he was all smiles.

Did you have any help from other family members at this session? All my sessions end up being a family effort. We had just started potty training Ethan the day before of the session (I know, what was I thinking?!) I had to create a potty station in my trunk. I had not taken potty visits into consideration when I calculated the time we needed to leave. I was running super late! My husband cancelled all his plans and drove us there since he is a much faster driver ….husband of the year award.

Did you bring any props to the session? Of course! His favorite train, a train conductor hat and a bandanna.

Any advice to others planning to have portraits taken? Have fun! Specially dealing with little ones, they can sense the stress and will be less cooperative if you are all over them.
