Chapel Hill Family Photography – Feels Like Summer

This was the first session that really felt like summer – it was hot! Even with all the trees and the shade, it was still pretty hot outside. These little ones were just so precious and so happy to play and run with their parents, the heat did not slow them down! This session was so relaxed and just fun, and this family was such a joy to photograph!

According to Mom….

Why did you choose this location for your session and what was the weather like the day of your session? I really like the green, so I thought that green background would make the photos great. That’s why I chose the arboretum. The weather on that day was great, but it was pretty hot for me. I was sweating from head to toe.

What is your favorite family activity? Playing & BBQing in a park.

Who are the members of your family and tell me a quick fact about each person? Roderick who is father of two little girls is an engineer and goes to a semiconductor company in Greensboro.
Mindy, its me, is a stay-at-home mom with two lovely girls, Evangeline and Ellen.
Evangeline is now 3 years old and she loves to dance, sing, and play by herself.
Ellen is 1 year old (18 months) and turning 2 in December. She is very active and energetic. She loves to play with her big sister, but she sometimes makes her sister upset and mad. I’m getting used to it.

What were your favorite parts of the session? Favorite part of the session at the most is naturalness. What we did in the session was just interacting and walking with our kids. Nothing was unnatural in the whole session. And Becky really knows how smile can be induced for perfect photos.

Tell me about the outfits you wore to the session – why you chose them, etc. I saw an family portrait during web surfing and I really like the blue theme in whole family. That gives me very cool and neat feeling. So I tried to match some our clothes and children’s clothes to make them blue. There were mostly white shirts and blue jeans and it looked something missing and boring. So, I added a pop color which is very light orange in some t-shirts and my shoes. The color was perfect accent in the photos I guess. All of children’s clothes and shoes are from Janie and Jack.
